Command & Conquer꧅ games might be getting remasters according to a cryptic Reddit post from a✱n EA producer.

EA has a history of ruining classic game franchises: SimCity, Medal of Honor, Need for Speed, and Star Wars: Battlefront a🅘ll come to mind. But EA has left no other franchise in such a heaping ruin as they have Command & Conquer.

What was once the darling of the real-time strategy game genre has since become but a faded memory for most fans. The last game to be released in the Command & Conquer universe, Command & Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight, was such a bomb that EA basically shelved the entire IP afterward. Fans of the series hated the way that EA had changed the classic C&C formula, and new players weren’t interested in an RTS game that looked worse tha🍰n almost every other game on the 🌺market.

But, Command & Conquer still has a ton of fans. When EA announced that they’d finally resurrect the Command & Conquer name eight years after the C&C 4 boondoggle as a mobile game, they were pissed. Fans wanted a return to form, not som🍸e bizarre mobile cop out.

Nevermind the fact that everyone who’s played Command & Conquer: Rivals say that it’s actually a great mobile game--fans were outraged that it wasn’t a PC game. And that outcry has apparently got EA spooked since they were relying on those fans buying Command & Conquer: Rivals.

Command And Conquer Remasters Could Be On The Way From EA

Jim Vessella, an EA producer who worked on both Command & Conquer 3 and Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3, to🌱ok𒈔 to to not only play damage control but also to toss a bone to rabid C&C fans.

"Following the reveal of Rivals, we heard you loud and clear: the Command & Conquer community also wants to see the franchise return to PC. And as a fan of C&C for over 20 years, I couldn’t agree more. With that in mind we’ve been🐲 exploring some exciting ideas regarding remastering the classic PC games, and already have the ball rolling on our first effort to celebrate the upcoming 25th Year Anniversary."

Sounds🐲 like EA might have a potentiaꦉl C&C remaster up their sleeves.

Vessella continued to let C&C fans know that EA would reach out to fans in a "variety of ways" to get t💃heir thoughts on “what comes next.” Which means that EA is likely still deciding just what game they remaster. With nearly a dozen PC games in the franchise, EA is hardly starved for choice.

Our vote is for Red Alert 2. Nothinꦉg beats attack dolphins and mind-control squids.
