EA made the bold move to leave the FIFA name behind last year and rebrand its annual football series EA Sports FC. The games had resided under the FIFA banner for 30 years before that, but making the switch to EA Sports FC doesn't appear to have taken any steam out of the series' sales. Certainly not enough that EA will go crawling back to FIFA a year later. Previews for EA Sports FC 25 have started to drop, and you can now pre-order the next game in the series, the second that won't have any relation to FIFA whatsoever.
Even though more and more studios leave last-gen consoles behind now that we're three and half years into the current-gen, EA still sees the worth on making its yearly football games available to as many fans as possible. Not only will EA Sports FC 25 be released on PS4 and Xbox One, but it's also coming to Nintendo Switch. Presumably a watered down version of the game as its standard edition is $10 cheaper than it is on other platforms, and the ultimate edition is $20 cheaper.

EA Sports FC will move on from 24 and onto 25 when the next game in the series is releases on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch on September 27. Pre-order the ultimate edition and you'll be able to start playing the next EA Sports FC game from September 20, seven days earlier than those who have pre-ordered the standard edition or plan on waiting until the game is released to buy it.

EA Sports FC 25's ultimate edition will only be available for pre-order until August 20, 2024, so a month before early access opens for the next game in the series. Do note that some of the bonuses and additional content will not be included in the Switch version of EA Sports FC 25, and it's not entirely clear what will be available with the Switch version of the game.
