Nightwolf is coming. We knew that way back when the Kombat Pack was first announced and revealed along with Sindel, Shang Tsung, and Todd McFarlane’s Spawn way back in May. It seems that Nightwolf will be next in line, judging by Boon's latest tweet which was sent out Wednesday afternoon. The tweet featured a picture of Nightwolf in profile, darkened so that it was difficult to make out his features, and signed with a Pulp Fiction quote: “Oh, you're sending the WOLF?"

Nightwolf was originally introduced in Mortal Kombat 3 as one of the winning entries to the Create-A-Character contest hosted by Midway shortly after the release of Mortal Kombat II. A Native American warrior from the Lakota-Sioux Tribe, Mortal Kombat 11 has since retconned Nightwolf’s backstory so he’s from the fictional Matoka Tribe. That name appears to ♈be a reference to Pocahontas, who was born with the name "Matoaka.”

Along with Nightwolf, Mortal Kombat 11’s Kombat Pack has two mystery characters that are believed to be the Terminator and Ash from the Evil Dead series. Both those characters were leaked in what appeared to be an accidental Google ad listing that went live a little too early. The Terminator’s release will likely coincide with the new Terminator movie set to arrive in theaters in October.
