In contrast, Eivor is down to clown and quite often the life of the party. Yeah, they're a beast on the battlefield, but they can also kill it in the beer halls. While Altair hardly ever cracks a joke and is quick to default to stabbing, Eivor is just as likely to challenge someone to a rap battle as they are to a duel. To top it off, Eivor loves cats, and can even recruit one to be their ship mascot. How could you not love Eivor?

While questions of story and personality might be largely subjective, it's hard to argue who is the better traveled between Altair and Eivor. Sure, Altair tromps around various locations in the Middle East and it is certainly cool to see an area of the world that is less represented in video games (unless it's being destroyed by a modern-day army). Eivor can, too, although they also have a huge amount of other moves. Tired of stealth and want to just drop kick someone into the English Chanel? Go for it!
But at the end of the day, Assassin's Creed isn't just about killing. It's about assassinating, and this requires a certain amount of stealth. Assassin's Creed Valhalla brought back some mechanics from games prior, which let you play and plan a bit more quietly—like being able to blend in with crowds—but the diversity of combat encounters and sprawling scope of Eivor's quest does inevitably dilute the actual assassination part of Assassin's Creed.
