You would think that these advantages would make Flails extremely overpowered, but in reality, most of them are frustratingly underwhelming. Usuꦑally, they have unimpressive damage and strangely low range. You’d think that adding a length of chain to a mace would make it hit from further away, but the Flail moveset doesn’t really seem to take advantage of that. However, there are still some Flails that are viable — even extremely powerful — in the right circumstances.

5 Flail

Flails are already an underwhelming weapon type, and the basic Flail is the worst of them. It’s tied for the lowest base damage among all Flails, and has the lowest scaling, not reaching better than B scaling in any stat. The Flail does have a unique Weapon Skill, Spinning Chain, shared only with two other Flails. Unfortunately, if you want to change the affinity of these Flails, doing so requires removing the skill. Spinning Chain isn’t the most spectacular weapon skill, but it’s stil🦄l strange that if you want to maximize this weapon’s scaling, you have to do away with the only unique Weapon Skill available to the regular Flails. If you do want to use the Flail (for some reason), it can be found in the game’s starting a🗹rea, inside one of the carriages surrounding the Gatefront Ruins. Alternatively, the Flail is also dropped by Brother Corhyn, so you can get it by killing him once he leaves the Roundtable hold or by finishing his questline.

4 Chainlink F💛lail𒐪

Every Flail in Elden Ring has some level of Strength scaling, but the Chainlink Flail♊ is the only one that can qualify as a Strength weapon. When given the Heavy infusion, it gets A scaling in Strength at the cost of removing the Weapon Skill. It also still has Bleed buildup, just like the regular Flail, which is somewhat unusual f💖or a Strength-based weapon (although there are much better options if that’s what you’re in the market for).

Probably the biggest knock against the Chainlink Flail is that it’s the hardest Flail to get. It’s a rare drop from the Lesser Pumpkin Heads that wield it (though not as rare as their fancy hats). The easiest one to farm is in Liurnia of the Lakes, at the camp north of the Four Belfries, and even that one has an annoying runback. Unless you really want to make the Chainlink Flail the basis of your build, finding it probably won't be worth your time.

3 🌱 ꦦ Nightrider Flail

In a lot of ways, the Nightrider Flail is an upgraded version of the regular Flail. It matches or outscales its plainer counterpart in every ca▨tegory, including getting an A in Dexterity if you give it the Keen infusion (although again, that requires changing the Weapon Skill). There are better options in the game if you’re looking for a Dexterity weapon that causes Bleed buildup (lots of them, in fact). But if you’re looking for a Flail that meets those specifications, the Nightrider Flail is what you should use.

You can get it extremely early in the game as well; it's dropped by one of the Night’s Cavalry bosses that roam the night in the Lands Between. The one wielding the Nightrider Flail appears on the Weeping Peninsula, practically on top of the Castle Morne Rampart Site of Grace.

2 Family Heads ♒

It’s at this point on the list that we finally get to the real winners of this Weapon class. The Family Heads is dropped by Necromancer Garris, a boss hidden behind one of the many illusory walls in the Sage’s Cave. It might be the most disturbing weapon in a game 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:filled with them; Garris fashioned the Family Heads' three copper heads in a facsimile of his dead wife and children. Very normal.

The weapon gets Intelligence scaling, making it a solid choice for a mage ♍build, but the real draw is its Weapon Skil🧔l, Familial Rancor. It functions similarly to the Ancient Death Rancor Sorcery, summoning ghostly skulls that float towards your enemies. They will track the enemy at fairly long range and deal impressive damage once they connect, especially since they deal Magic damage and can therefore be buffed with a variety of Sorceries, armor pieces, and Talismans.

1 Bastard’s Star👍s ꦺ

The Bastard's Stars is another Flail that scales with Intelligence, although it has better scaling in that stat than the Family Heads. And like the latter, the Bastard’s Stars has a special Weapon Skill: Nebula.

Technically, the Weapon Skill of the Wing of Astel, a Curved Sword, shares the same name. Both weapons create a delayed explosion that can deal massive da🔥mage. However, the Bastard’s Starsܫ’ version costs slightly more and casts in a wide arc around you instead of in a more focused, frontal burst. This Flail also lacks the projectile attack the Wing of Astel possesses. All in all, the Wing of Astel is probably better, but these two weapons are both powerful.
