It might seem like accessibility options might break the difficulty curve in a souls game, but that is not entirely true. Plenty of people want to enjoy Elden Ring but either physically can't or feel intimidated by the lack of information the game gives you.
In terms of physical accessibility, there are no options at the start of the game that help people with impaired vision or have difficulty with various inputs. Seeing how successful the game has been, it's likely that many more people want to play Elden Ring, but cannot due to the lack of accessibility features.
Elden Ring is a very intimidating game to get into, and it requires a lot of prior hand knowledge to get through the game. If you are a newb to souls games, you will need to look up a lot of information the game does not tell you. Moreover, the game's tutorial is far too easy to miss, and if you do miss it, then you are in for a long learning curve. Again, some elements in Elden Ring are obtuse for seemingly no reason. Item crafting is one of these obtuse elements. This detail is an annoying step you have to take to do one of the simplest things in the game.
