With 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elden Ring being an action RPG by FromSoftware, it often gets compared to their critically acclaimed 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dark Souls series. And, while Elden Ring may resemble those fantastic titles on the surface, it is a much different be🅰aꦑst when you examine it closely.
Make no mistake, Elden Ring borrows many things from the Soulsborne titles but also offers many new systems and mechanics that make for exciting gameplay moments. FromSoftware kept every🧸thing they knew worked in and added a plethora of new, exciting things to their tried and true gameplay the fans grew to love so much.
12 Mounts
One of the most significant additions in Elden Ring is the ability to summon a mount in an instant with your trust Spectral Steed Whistle given to you by Maiden Melina. This Spectral Steed's name is Torrent, and it will allow you to traverse The Lands Between quickly and even make specific enemy encounters much more bearable.
Additionally, the movement of Torrent feels incredible, and the combat is just as responsive as you'd expect in a FromSoftware title. Furthermore, Torrent also has a double jump and c🧔an scale tall cliffsides via jumping pa🐠ds, becoming a crucial strategy for exploration and accessing areas you cannot reach on your own.
11 😼 🍸 The World Map
Yup, you read that right. Elden Ring will have a World Map, which you will reveal more of by finding Map Fragments scattered across the six regions within The Lands Between. Map Fragments will extend the World Map, allowing you to see areas you may have yet to explore, structure𓆏s that can lead to mini-dungeons, and much more.
If that wasn't enough, you also have the option of placing beacons and markers on the World Map. Markers help you remember a potential secret, mini-boss, or dungeon entrance that you may be too weak to tackle or don't have the means to access quite yet. While beacons, on the other hand, will show up in-game as a navigation point, allowing you to track it on foot or with Torrent, assuring you will never get lost again. At least that's the hope.
10 Flask Restoration🌟
FromSoftware games are all about exploration, often rewarding players for going off the beaten path and poking their heads in areas they aren't necessarily supposed to be in. Elden Ring encourages that exploration by replenishing some of your Flasks by completing a specific task or finding objects out and about in your journey.
When reaching new areas populated with enemies, you may have felt discouraged in the previous installments to try and take them on, just wanting to find the nearest Bonfire. Thankfully, Elden Ring fixes that problem by restoring some of your Flasks of Crimson Tears (Estus Flask) when successfully eliminating every enemy in the area. This system opens exploration up exponentially, as you no longer have to decide between resting at the nearest checkpoint, bringing everyone you just defeated back to life, or risk pushing forward, potentially losing all of your acquir🌃ed Runes (Souls).
In addition to that, you will find Teardrop Scarabs scattered throughout The Lands Between. Destroying the Scarab's orb will replenish its corresponding color's Flask. The Red Teardrop Scarab (Crimson) will restore your Flasks of Crimson Tears, while the Blue Teardrop Scarab (Cerulean) will restore your Flask of Cerulean Tears, keeping you in the fight to keep on exploring!
9 Crafting
In previous FromSoft titles, if you ran out of arrows for your bow, you were forced to travel back to the game's hub world to purchase them from one of the many merchants there. Fortunately, that all changes in Elden Ring as you can now craft many different items while exploring its vast world.
After purchasing the Crafting Kit from a merchant, you will have the ability to craft items from within the Elden Ring's menu, so long as you have the required materials and "Cookbooks" for the item you want. You will find Cookbooks all around The Lands Between, typically sold by merchants, containing recipes for things such as Firebone Arrows, Sleep Pots, and much more. However, owning the Cookbook is only half of it. You will also need to harvest animals and various plants to craft most of the game's items. Still, it beats having to fast travel back to an area because you ran out of something!
8 🌜📖 Creating Flasks
In Elden Ring's recent Network Test, you could obtain the Flask of Wondrous Physick by defeating the optional boss Beastman of Farum Azula, located within the Groveside Cave. This Flask allows you to mix two Crystal Tears inside of it to create a unique consumable item.
There are many Crystal Tears to find throughout Elden Ring, with only four present in its Network Test. Cryst♒al Tears offer different effects that you can combine and store inside the Flask of Wonderous Physick. These effects range from the standard HP or FP restoration to the crazier "this concoction causes an explosion," which quite literally does as it says, hurting you and any enemy in its radius whenever you consume it. Additionally, while this is a relatively strong item, you can only use it once before having to rest at a Site of Grace to restore its properties.
7 🅰 Ashes Of War
The new Ashes of War mechanic allows you to outfit your weapons with different abilities that act much like Dark Souls 3's "Weapon Arts" mechanic. However, unlike Weapon Arts, Ashes of War aims to keep your favorite weapon around just a bit longer if you find an Ashes of War that pairs well with it. And, there will be TONS of them to collect in Elden Ring.
Ashes of War essentially allows you to change your weapon's Skill, allowing you to strike an enemy down with a bolt of lightning, pull enemies in with a gravitation pull, buff your next attack significantly, and much, much more. Ashes of War is an incredible feature in Elden Ring and will surely birth ridiculous builds once the community gets hold of them.
6 Legacy Dungeons 💫
Within The Lands Between, you will travel th🌱rough six regions, which offer many different landscapes, enemies, and secrets to uncover. Not only that, but each of the six regions will also have its own unique Legacy Dungeon that serves as the grand finale of each area.
Legacy Dungeons are sprawling fortresses that hold nothing back, offering challenging bosses, complex secrets, and even NPCs who may be on your side, or will stab you in the back the moment you let your guard down. Another cool thing about each region and Legacy Dungeon is Elden Ring's "open field" gameplay allows you to tackle each region in whatever order you seem fit and doesn't force you to complete one area before moving on to the next. Think of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Legend of Zelda series, especially 🌄Breath of the Wild, and how it handled its world design to understand better how Elden Ring's world is laid out.
5 Stakes Of Marika ꧙
With Elden Ring's world being so massive, it would be discouraging to have the player get sent the entire way back to a Site of Grace after losing a hard-fought battle to a boss, being forced to trudge your way through every enemy once more for another round crack at it. Enter Stakes of Marika, a system that will save you time and frustration.
Stakes of Marika are additional checkpoints, typically found a bit outside of a boss room, halfway through a mini-dungeon, or before a new area, and act as a respawn point if you were a bit careless. Spawning at a Stake of Marika will allow you to, hopefully, make it back to the boss or mob of enemies that killed you, with far more Flasks at your disposal, giving you better odds in the matchup. Furthermore, there isn't any penalty for spawning at a Stake of Marika instead of a Site of Grace. However, if you decide to respawn elsewhere, the Stake of Marika will become inaccessible until you make your way back to it again.
4 Spirits
Ever wanted to have someone by your side for a specific area without going through the rigamarole of summoning in another player? Or, perhaps the area you're in doesn't allow you to call in a helping hand? Well, if you said yes, good news, Spirit Ashes have your back! If not, they should still be of interest to you. We think.
Spirits allow you to use some of your FP to summon in a familiar that will offer support against whatever it is that's giving you trouble. Spirit Ashes often take the form of foes you have already encountered and bested, ranging from things such as a pack of wolves, mages, jellyfish, and plenty more. These Spirits will likely save many people's lives and will help give you an upper hand when facing mobs or other less-enemies.
3 Fall Damage Isn't As Harsh
While it may seem silly to praise or point out, taking significantly less fall damage in Elden Ring is a pretty substantial addition. It goes hand in hand with one of the game's biggest focuses, exploration. Which will encourage players to push forward, try new things, and uncover secrets naturally without fearing instant death due to their curiosity.
Being able to confidently jump down onto a ledge without having to worry about your character's ankles breaking because you were two inches higher than you should have been when you jumped is relieving to hear. While certain heights will still kill you, it isn't nearly as ridiculous as previous installments, which is A-okay with us!
