Nearly 30 seconds of Elden Ring footage has leaked, and even with so little shown it's got everyone very excited.

, although it's not clear where the footage originally came from. Considering Elden Ring is still a few months away from launch, it's likely that the footage came from a Q&A tester, although this isn't confirmed.

Regarding the footage, Grubb said, "Alleged Elden Ring footage from Xbox One. The leaker is saying that this is Xbox One -- I'm betting it's Xbox One X based on framerate. It is a few weeks old. The capture hardware is low-quality, apparently".

The clip, which is incredibly short, shows the main character stood at the end of a cliff They're shown looking out to the distance where a large glowing tree is rooted. The player character then moves around the cliff, showing off the ability to freely jump around. After that, they walk towards what looks like massive eagles, before looking out to the horizon again.

There's not too much to glean from the footage, but eagle-eyed fans can spot a few things. For starters, the armour used here has previously been shown in another trailer and is very likely the starting kit for at least one of the builds. A compass is also shown at the top of the screen, with one waypoint marker shown when facing towards the East, something we've already heard about from gameplay previews.

More than anything else, the most important takeaway from this footage is that Elden Ring is indeed a real game and seems to be in a state that's very close to finished. This should help calm down the rumours of it being delayed out of its Janꦰuary relea🅠se date.

What's funny about this leak is that even though it's arguably one of the shorter ones in recent memory, it's actually pretty long for Elden Ring standards, with previous leaks showing less than ten seconds of blurry off-screen footage.
