Following the PS5 reveal event that was streamed online last month, all eyes are now on Microsoft, and how its Xbox Series X will compete with Sony's new solid state drive. According to rumors that have been widely circulated around the internet this past week, a reveal event for the Xbox Series X is scheduled to take place on July 23rd, during which a number of games that are to be featured on the console will also be showcased. Among these, according to a new, separate , is Elden Ring, the upcoming collaboration between Dark Souls developers FromSoftware and A Song of Ice and Fire author George R.R. Martin.

While the new information currently circulating about Elden Ring sounds plausible enough, it's well worth noting that the rumor originated on 4chan. Leaks posted there are sometimes legitimate, and sometimes, as is in the spirit of the notorious imageboard, elaborate trolls, engineered expressly to garner just this sort of attention. That said, if these leaks are to be taken at face value, new details about Elden Ring, which was first teased a little over a year ag♐o, are to be a part of the upcoming Xbox showcase, which will likely be streamed onliꦿne later this month.

Furthermore, the same post purportedly revealing its inclusion in the Xbox event also details some of its gameplay. The overall style, it claims, will resemble Dark Souls 1 and 3, but with jumping like in Sekiro in addition to an air dodge mechanic. Play style is determined not by a character class like in Dark Souls but by a guild system that allows players to change t🍌heir character's mastery.

The game world is, supposedly, separated into five different kingdoms, each of which with its own main boss. At least 12 smaller-scale bosses will be interspersed between the five main boss fights. Like SekiroElden Ring's world will🎶 oscillate between day and night. During nighttime enemies are st🐬ronger.

These accompany a number of other logistical details that, in total, describe Elden Ring as the type of game fans would expect FromSoftware to make utilizing the lessons learned from its previous releases. FromSoftware has yet to announce a release date for Elden Ring, ♛but if it is indeed revealedꦍ later this month, that tidbit should be imminent too.
