Summary

  • In Shadow of the Erdtree, we find a Suppressing Pillar that tells us we're in the middle of the Lands Between.
  • One fan decided to test that idea by overlaying the map on top of Elden Ring's, and it mostly fits.
  • Interestingly, it places the Jagged Peak around Gurranq's temple in Caelid, which was where Farum Azula originally sat.

In the🐼 heart of the Land of Shadow, you find a solemn tower called the Suppressing Pillar which houses little more than a note. It tells you that you stand in the middle of ღthe Lands Between, that this liminal plane ripped from existence was once part of the world we know.

The 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elden Ring community has long speculated that the centre of The Lands Between, an ominously empty body of water perfectly surrounded by Divine Towers, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:would be the backdrop of the DLC. They were right. One fan has overlayed the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Shadow of the Erdtree map on top of Elden Ring's and it's almost a perfect match.

Overlaying the two maps places the Suppressing Pillar right in the middle of the empty water, beneath tꦅhe singular cloud. It also puts the foot of the Scadutree at the foot of the Erdtree, and with the former bei🐓ng a shadow of the latter, that makes complete sense.

Parts of the map clash with the base game, but we know from Shadow of the Erdtree that many areas are incredibly high up lending to the vertical level design, so it doesn't necessarily mean that they don't fit. You can see the two placed together via a GIF below.

Elden Ring Fans Think The Jagged Peak Once Led To Farum Azula

If♔ this fan is right about their placement, there are some incredibly interesting implications when connecting the two maps.

The Jagged Peak, a spiralling mountaintop filled with dragons, "slots very neatly around the piece of land [in Caelid] with Gurranq's temple." For 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the lore buffs, you'll know that his temple is where 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Farum Azula, the floating city which impris꧅ons Dragonlord Placisudax, once lay. Adding even more fuel to the fire is that there are ruins on the peak reminisཧcent of Farum Azula.

We find Bayle at the summit of the Jagged🏅 Peak. He once fought and lost to Placidusax but managed to te♒ar off one of their heads.

This means that the Jagged Peak would've led directly into the city, and with Farum Azula being hidden away in an eternal storm, it makes sense that the peak would feel the impact with its own unending lightning and thunder.

Not only is the Jagged Peak then connected to Farum Azula and Dragonbarrow, the birthplace of modern dragons, but it might explain why there are ice dragons at the Mountaintops of the Giants. It's long been suspected that there was land connecting Caelid to the mountains (evident by the giant skeletons only appearing in these two locations), and the Jagged Peak may explain how. If so, the dragons of old would have called Caelid, The Mountaintops of the Giants, the Jagged Peak, and Farum Azula their home, all of which now slot neatly together.
