Quick Links
Starlight Shards are scattered across 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Elden Ring in the company of the strange stone astrolabes that dot the Lands Between. These lore-heavy objects are more than simple tokens to collect, but they are nonetheless limited objects of exc🃏eptional rarity you'll want to take the time seeking out.
Each map area in Elden Ring harbors at least one Starlight Shard — with the exception of the Consecrated Snowfield, Haligtree, and Farum Azula areas. In total, there are 23 shards per playthrough (that thankfully respawn in New Game+), so you'll want to track them a൲ll down if you're hoping to get all their possible benefits.
Starlight Shards: What Are They?
Starlight Shards at their most simple explanation are consumable items that can gradually recover FP when used. However, given how many other items can do the same, it is never recommended to use Starlight Shards in this manner. Instead, the best use of Starlight Shards is taking them to Seluvis and exchanging them for the Spirit Ashes he sells.
If you would like all of Seluvis's spirit summons, you'll need at least ten Starlight Shards, since you cannot obtain Dolores and the Dung Eater in the same playthrough🧜.

You can only hold up to ten Starlight Shards on your person at any one time. The rest will be placed into 🔜storage.
Limgrave Starlight Shards
There are four Starlight Shards in Limgrave, one of which re☂quires you to complete a lengthy quest (and its prerequi🌄site) in order to receive it.
Stormhill Shard
From the Stormhill Shack, head directly south and ignore the many enemies standing at the top of Stormhill. Jump over꧂ some small fragments of ruins to find the stone astrolabe on the precipice.
Sorceress Sellen Quest Shard
In order to receive the Starlight Shard from Sorceress Sellen, you must have:
- Found Sorceress Sellen and dispatched the Mad Pumpkin Head guarding her door
- Found Azur and his legendary spell in Mt. Gelmir
- Located Lusat and returned with his legendary spell from Caelid
The full quest walkthrough for Sellen can be found here, but returning with Lusat's legendary spell will reward you with a single Starlight Shard. From here, you may cꦇhoose to continue with her questline, or simply walk away and be content with your reward.
Southern Limgrave Shard
Travel south from Agheel Lake South's Site of Grace, down the road to find the Spiritspring on the left side of the path. Use it to jump behind the bandit camp and reach the altar on the cliffside without needi𓄧ng to interact with any enemies. The Starlight Shard will await you there.
Weeping Peninsula Shard
From the Beside The Crater Site of Grace, travel directly south and ignore the packs of wolves nearby. Climb the small hill on the east side of the peninsula, using Torrent to easily jump over the ledges and boulder in the way. A stone astrolabe will be on the far⛄thest side of th🦄e precipice.
Liurnia Starlight Shards
Liurnia is the richest area in terms of Starlight Shards. Given that this is the home of Raya Lucaria, Carian Manor, and the Moonlight Altar, this shouldn't be particularly surprising. Altogether, there are 12 Starlight Shards to find, with 11 of them found in a singular location locked by a lengthy questline. This♑ means they are unavailable until at leas🌞t midway through a standard playthrough.
Eastern Liurnia Of The Lakes Shard
From the Artist's Shack, travel south down the road and break right just before reaching the wooded area where the Night's Cavalry lurks. Alternatively, you can venture through the woods northward if you're coming from Gate Town. The stone astrolabe will be on the cliffside facing Raya Lucaria, 💃and within sight of, much farther in the distance, Stormveil.
As mentioned, if you're coming from Gate Town, you will need to contend with wolves and - if you're approaching at night - a Night's Cavalry in order to reach the stone astrolabe.
Moonlight Altar Shards
The holy motherload of Starlight Shards, there are ten Starlight Shards in the main building area of Manus Celes on the northern side of the Moonlight Altar. Outside, next to the stone astrolabe, is another to make the total for this area 11.
In order to reach the Moonlight Altar, you need to have completed all of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ranni's questline, up until you reach the Moonligh♔t Altar and defeat the dragon waiting𓃲 outside Manus Celes.
Caelid Starlight Shards
Spread far apart from one another, Caelid has two Starlight Shards. One is available much earlier if you explore a larger percentage of Limgrave, but these Starlight Shards are generally easy to reach and located not far from Sites of Grace. Both are placed with stone astrolabes and are relatively unguarded.
Northern Caelid Shard
On the northern side of Caelid, you can reach this Starlight Shard early by teleporting to the Bestial Sanctum from its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:special teleport location in Limgrave (not far from the first Tibia Mariner) and then heading south, or by progressing past Dragon Greyll on the bridge and heading north from Farum Greatbridge's Site of Grace. The cliffside the stone astrolabe sits upon is only accessible by approaching from the north-western side.
Western Caelid Shard
West of the Caelid Highway South Site of Grace, the stone astrolabe with the Starlight Shard will be situated on the hill. It's in plain sight and unguarded, so merely march up the hill and ta▨ke📖 it for yourself.
Mt. Gelmir Starlight Shard
There is only one Starlight Shard in Mt. Gelmir, and it is the hardest stone astrolabe Starlight Shard to take. It requires ascending the mountain on the northern side — a difficult task on its own — and climbing the ladder or using the Spiritspring at the Ninth Mt. Gelmir Campsite to reach a large nest of sorts.
Inside this nest is the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast. It is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:not an easy fight — especially if you don't rely on magic. You can attempt to grab the Starlight Shard without fighting, but its speed and reach make this a difficult task to undertake without taking massive damage or outright dying. In general, it is recommended to defeat the Fallingstar Beast and take the Starlight Shard afterward.
Atlus Plateau Starlight Shards
There are two Altus Plateau Starlight Shards, and both can be found on the western side towards Mt. Gelmir. Both locations will require venturing far from a Site of Grace and fighting enemy hordes to reach, meaning that both locations will be the least recommended to find Starli💎ght Shards — unless you don't wish to undertake Ranni's ques🌊t, but still want Seluvis's Spirit Ashes.
Shaded Castle Shard
From the Shaded Castle Ramparts, jump down and circle the castle on the western side. You'll probably want to venture across the poison swamp atop Torrent, racing past the slugs and the flowers to avoid being knocked from Torrent or poisoned. Once past them all, you'll want to carefully circle around the castle onto the cliffside, venturing towards the back, where you sh🎶ould be 𒁏able to spot the stone astrolabe from afar.
Hermit Village Shard
With the exception of the Starlight Shard guarded by the Full-Grown Fallingstar Beast, this is the most heavily guarded stone astrolabe. It can be found just east of the Hermit Village, and reaching it will require you to defeat a horde of enemies at the entrance to the town. Failu🥂re to do this first may result in the beasts of Hermit 🎀Village flanking you upon your approach to the stone astrolabe, and swarming you.
Once these beasts are defeated, you'll need to take on a second horde directly in front of the stone astrolabe. Be wary of the area directly to the right of the astrolabe as a glintstone sorcerer will be waiting to cast glintstone magic in support of the demi-humans. Of all enemies, he should be prioritized as he will contribute the highest risk.
If you haven't already located Comet Azur or found Azur to take on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Sellen's questline, then you can head north from the Hermit Village to continue onward. You'll eventually find the Demi-Human Maggie boss and Azur hiding behind the rockface.
Mountaintops Of The Giants Starlight Shards
There are two Starlight Shards in the Mountaintops of the Giants. They're each guarded by minor enemies, but they're fairly easy to dispatch with𒅌 prior knowledge and a bit of Souls grit.
Castle Sol Shard
Southwest of Castle Sol, you'll find this Starlight Shard at a stone astrolabe on the second tier of the cliffside, nearest to the Minor Erdtree. Depending on your approach, you might need to contend with either the boss (from the south) or lightning strikes (from Castle Sol).
If you managed to get to Castle Sol first without fighting the Death Rite bird, then it is recommended to instead come from the Castle Sol Exterior Gate for general ease.
Foot Of The Forge Shard
From the Foot of the Forge Site of Grace, travel slightly north and then east toward the cliff where two giants will be waiting. Ignore them, sneaking b𒊎ehind the tree, and head for the stone astrolabe hiding around the corner.
Be wary, however, of the giant hand monster lurking in the ground before it. Dispatch it before taking the Starlight Shard for yourself, and rounding out you꧃r Starlight Shard coll🦂ection.
For ease in dispatching the hand monster, carry some form of fire — be that incantation, spell, ash of war, or otherwise. The fire will cause the hand to spasm without attacking you, giving you time to get hits in 🔯and dispatch itܫ quickly without fearing it may knock you off the cliffside you were so keen on getting close to.
