Elder Scrolls Online offered a closer look at the Blackwood zone ahead of the Blackwood Chapter's arrival in June. A provided more details about the hub city – Leyawi🐓in – the Argonian and Imperial architecture, and what you꧟ can expect while roaming the new world.
If you've played The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, you'll already know a bit of what to expect when Blackwood arriv🐷es. Leyawiin was heavily featured in that past Elder Scrolls entry 🐎– and it will be instantly recognizable in ESO. Things will look a bit different, however, as the events of ESO take place well before the events of Oblivion.
“Allying with the Argonian-led city of Gideon, the city of Leyawiin has recently reclaimed their independence after being invaded during the Three-Banners War,” said Jason Barnes, Blackwood Zone lead. “However, in other areas, tensions are high. Mysteri📖ous cults ha🎃ve sprung up throughout the land, and unusual vault-like Daedric formations have emerged with no explanation of their origin or purpose.”
Leyawiin is composed of ༺a variety of NPCs, iꦕncluding Argonians, Imperials, and a few Khajiit from the bordering Elsweyr.
Venture ou💜tside the walls of the city aಞnd you'll find plenty of dangerous content to explore.
“💛Ancient Argonian temples and mysterious Daedric vaults lie waiting for thrill-seekers to try their luck,” said CJ Grebb, ESO's art director. “Moving south, the Valley’s unpredictable spillways lead to beautiful sunken ruins surrounding ancient Ayleid structures and more recent Imperial settle♊ments. All of this is populated with a mix of Argonian and Imperial cultures.”
All told, the Blackwood zone will include:
- Six Delves
- Two Public Dungeons
- Six World Bosses
- One 12-Player Trial
- Oblivion Portal world events
Blackwood is expected to release for PC on June 1 followed by consoles on June 8. It will further the Gates of Oblivion storyline that began earlier this year with Flames of Ambition.
