The latest chapter for The Elder Scrolls Online has released, letting players delve into more of Skyrim's landmass as well as the accursed Blackreach, and so there's no doubt a wave of new players delving in for the firꦺst time in ages, if eve🀅r.
With The Elder Scrolls Online being an MMO, there is a lot to unpack in it🌼s design, with tons of easily overlooked aspects that can make a playthrough a helluva lot easier or just more enjoyable. In that vein, here are ten things you should know before diving in.
10 ✱ You Can Change Your Race
Don't get too hunꩲg up on what race🌄 you pick at the start, given that the benefits aren't too 🎉important or noticeable, meaning that you can choose whatever you fancy, especially if you have the any alliance ꦡwith any race DLC.
Nonetheless, if you're uncertain, know that you can buy race tokens to change your race and appearance down the line if you decide that you want the perks of an Argonian as opposed to a Nord for your tank. You can also change your name or ꧂just your appearance without meddling with race, but it costs real money.
9 Characters Share Champion Level ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ ⭕
For the unaware, The Elder Scrolls Online has two-level systems, with the first being your standard numerical advancement type that nets you perks and stat upgrades, but onceꦓ you hit 50, you cap and begin Champion Levels.
This is another leveling system that goes well into the hundreds before c🐷apping and you get all new perks and bonuses, but you don't have to level this on eve🌜ry toon, as it is a shared level. If you get to Champion Level 500 and start a new character, you can immediately use those points for perks whilst starting over at normal level 1.
8 💟 ESO+ Offers An Unlimited Capacity Crafting Bag
, but the o🐟ption is there for some added bonuses, like a bottomle♛ss crafting bag for all your supplies.
As you traverse Tamriel, Coldharbour, the Clockwork City, and all the little bits and pieces in-between, you'll no doꦛubt find an abundance of crafting materials that will quickly fill up your inventory. You can drop these off in a bank or have a toon dedicated to crafting, but an infinite crafting bag is so much simpler.
7 You're Gonnﷺa Have A Tough ꦜTime Finding Dungeons As DPS
Dungeons are a huge part of the MMO experience - whilst questing is fine and dandy, it's a little on the easy side, and you'll 🐠find out that soon enough, you'll be storming through the game at a leisurely pace without much trouble.
That's why dungeons a☂re here, for some team-based PvE action against tougher foes, but if you wanna queue up for them, you'll be waiting significantly longer if you play as DPS, so maybe it's time to be selfless and be a healer or become 🍨the🃏 embodiment of a sponge and play as a tank.
6 There's Pl▨enty Of Addons For Fi💧nding Collectibles
The world of Elder Scrolls Online is jam-packed with collectibles, whether its the skyshards that net you ski🅰ll points if you hit a trio of them or the wealth of lorebooks to be found.
You can look up a guide or fဣigure it out on your own, but if you're looking to get a leg-up fast and stock up on skill points to do some damage and craft some goodies, then its best just to grab an addon - they're easy enough to find. Although, this only qualifies for PC players.
5 Max Stamina꧋ Up🌳s Weapon Damage, Max Magicka Ups Spell Damage
The way stamina, Magicka, and health work are fairly simple - level up the stat, and the corresponding bar will grow in numerical size, meaning that you get more health, more magic, and more stꦐamina.
However, what you may not realize right off the bat is tha♏t stamina corresponds to how much damage your weapon deals whilst Magicka corresponds to how much damage you do with spells or🤡 magic-based weapons, so pick wisely when leveling.
4 ♊ "Room🐷 To Spare" Nets You A Free Starting Home
You can get and furnish homes in The Elder Scrolls Online, so it can 🐷somewhat scratch that Animal Crossing itch for those without the funds for a Switch, but buying a house c꧟an be costly.
Until the funds arise, your best bet is taking part in the free quest of Room To Spare ꦆwhich lets you take residence in a free room of an inn in the corresponding city you begin the quest in.
3 🗹 🐟 You Gain Access To Every DLC With ESO+
ESO+ gives you access to an ♏infinite crafting bag which is of itself a neat little selling point, but what it also provides is access to all of the DLCs such as Clockwork🔯 City and Murkmire. You get bonuses to XP and research time too, so there's plenty on offer.
You can buy the DLC individually, and ESO+ doesn't unlock chapters for you (Greymoor, Elsweyr, Morrowind, Summerset), but having a subscription service can make it✱ a more affordable investment.
2 ꦏ Inventory Space Is Upgradeable, Anไd So Is Bank Space
If you don't wanna splash out for a subscription service to get an infinite storage place for all your crafting needs, then you can funnel your gold into upping your bag and bank space, although 🀅it will get pricey fast.
One method is to funnel a wealth of gold into the bank, take it out on another toon, buy all thౠe bag space you can, and use them to hold onto important supplies. Or you can just upgr♊ade the bank space and chuck everything of importance in there - whatever works for you.
1 🎶 🎃 You Can Be In Five Guilds At Once
There are tons of NPC guilds in the game, such as the Dark Brotherhood, Thieve's Guild, Undaunted, Mage's Guild, and Fighter's Guild, but there's also, in true MMO fas❀hion, a wealth of player-made guilds that sport their own stores.
Each tends to tickle different itches, with roleplaying guilds, trading gꦚuilds, and PvE-centric guilds. There's something for everyone, but if you want to experience a bit of everything, you can join up to five, so you're not constrained in your loyalty to one place.
