Skyrim has been out for almost 𝔉ten years, and in that time, players have restarted the game thousands of times. Unfortunately, the tutorial is notoriously long before the Dragonborn is allowed to start running around the open world. Tons of players use mods to get around the intro sequence.
However, if they took a moment to look around as their cart passes through Helgen and they are chauffeured through their first dungeon, they might notice a few hidden details that they'd been too immersed in the action to catch the last time. Here are a few of these details that a keen-eyed player might notice upon their second or third (or fiftieth) playthrough 🗹of Skyrim's introduction.
8 🎃 High Hrothgar
As long as the player doesn't choose one of the (admittedly more interesting for a repeat playthrough) 168澳洲幸运5开🍸奖网:a🌳lternate paths from the "Live Another Life" mod, they'll start Skyrim on an icy roadℱ, travelling to Helgen. On the journey, huge mountains loom above them, creating a claustrophobic atmosphere that adds to the trapped experience.
Once the player reaches the execution block, they'll spy the largest mountain around by far, looming over the events. Indeed, though the Drago♛nborn has no idea of their destin🎐y yet, this mountain is High Hrothgar, the place where they will discover their true abilities.
7 🍌 🌳 A Friend Of Martin
There are dozens of Easter egg lines in Skyrim, referencing popular culture. There 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:are tons of hilarious quotes, too. On this occasion, Skyrim pays homage to its pred🍸ecessor, Obliꩵvion.
Oblivion follows the protagonist as they help Martin, the heir to the Imperial throne. Once the player has finished the main que൩st, NPCs greet them by saying 🦩"Any friend of Martin's is a friend of mine." If the Dragonborn in Skyrim chooses to follow Ralof, the Stormcloak, out of Helgen, his sister Gerdur in Riverwood will tell them that "Any friend of Ralof's is a friend of mine."
6 𝓡 Dwemer Che✤st
Iಌn one of the rooms that the player ransacks during their journey through Helgen Keep — regꦆardless of whether they chose to follow the Stormcloak or the Imperial — they might spot this golden chest in a corner beside some unused cages. On a fan's first run-through, they might dismiss it as just a fancy chest.
However, when they spot it on their second or third run-through, they're bound to recognize it was a Dwemer chest. It's notably out of place among the o♍ther gear, chests, and equipment for a human military base. Is it there for a reason? Perhaps the Imperials are just as curious about as the players are.
5 🙈 The Best Of Both Worlds 🍒
Curious (or nosy) players in Elder Scrolls games are often rewarded with special loot for their efforts. Skyrim is no different, and indeed rewards players from the beginning for their explora✃tion. When the player enters Helgen Keep, they can either follow the Stormcloak, Ralof, or the Imperial, Hadvar.
Whichever the player follows, they can stilꦏl access the loot that they would have gotten by following the other. If they follow Hadvar, they pass through the room where Ralof would have led the player. If they follow Ralof, it's possible to backtrack after being attacked by Imperial soldiers to loot the Warden's Chꦍest they'd have looted with Hadvar.
4 The Book Of The Dragonbor🙈n
Over the course of Skyrim, the gamer learns that they are tꦺhe Dovahkiin — the m🐎ysterious Dragonborn of legend — destined to kill Alduin and save the world. No big deal. But during the introduction, the word "Dragonborn" might mean nothing to a new player. This book serves to familiarize❀ them with the word and foreshadow the game's main story.
In the Helgen Keep, whether the gamer follows the Stormcloak or Imperial soldier, they will find this "Book of the Dragonborn" resting lovingly on a table. If the Imperials were reading this novel, did they know more about the legend coming true than they were letting on? Or perhaps just familiarizing theꦍmselves with the mythic lore of this foreign country?
3 Flying Tro♈ops ⛎
Skyrim's shout mechanic is first introduced to the player when Alduin screams undecipherable words at Helgen's unsuspecting villagers. Amid all the chaos, the player may not think to look up at the dragon — the close-up views they get when he crashes through b♛uildings may well be enough for most people.
꧋However, if the player does look up, they may catch ꧟a glimpse of flying imperial soldiers amid the clouds. At first, it appears to be a glitch: perhaps Alduin's shouts have worked a little too well? But upon closer inspection, the player can catch glimpses of imperial men in Alduin's claws, who he proceeds to drop mid-flight.
2 ♛ The Mage Battalion
As Alduin rains hellfire on Helgen during Skyrim's introduction♏, the player follows various NPCs through the burning town. Just before entering Helgen Keep to escape, the player runs into the Imper𒐪ial General, Tullius, and his men. Among them are several magic users, casting flames into the sky aimlessly, labelled by the game as "Imperial Mages."
However, this is the only time that Imperial Mages are seen in Skyrim, even if the player later joins the Imperial army. Some Redditors theorize that they were meant to be included in the Civil🍃 War encounters, but Bethesda simply forgot. They certainly don't have their own dedicated equipment - they wear Imperial Light armor, rather than robes, and their hood is actually a "Torturer's Hood."
1 The Thalmor 𝔍
Skyrim is full of hidden secrets, from surpri🌺se boss battles to bu🥀ckets full of gems. In this case, it's the character tucked away during Skyrim's first cutscene. As the player passes them on their way into Helgen, the NPC🅰s will briefly 🌌comment on the Thalmor that General Tullius is talking to, but they can be hard to catch a glimpse of.
In fact, that Thalmor 🐼is actually named Elenwen, whom the player will encounter later during the main quest. that Elenwen has recorded lines meant for this part of the game, that weren't used, in which she orders Tullius to hand over Ulfric and the other🐼 prisoners.
