In the Merethic Era, there was a race of humans known as the🐼 Nedic; these ancestors of men lived all across Tamriel, from♉ the Imperial-ruled Cyrodiil to the now Dunmer-populated Morrowind.
One of these Nedic people, Lamae Bal, a worshi🀅pper of the god Arkay, was raped by the Daedric Prince Molag Bal. A drop of blood fell onto her brow following the prince of dominat♕ion's wretched assault and she was left to die, only to be discovered by a tribe of nomads.
Upon burning the now-deceased woman's body, they were shocked to find it rising from the flames. She killed the nomads in a ruthless fashion,🗹 eating the children's eyes and raping t💖he men - the first true-blood vampire was born.
9 ☂ Elsweyr's Hollowfang Clan Worship Sanguine, Not Moꩵlag Bal
Molag Bal may be🐻 the founding father of the Vampiric people, but the bloodsucking undead of the Hollowfang Clan in Eslweyr worship Sanguine, another Daedric Prince entirely.
Sanguine, or as they are also known, Sangiin, is the Blood God, so the connection is understandable. The Khajiit revere him as the Blood Cat and the Hollowfang Clan's leader, Nisaazda, even gives t✱hanks to him in her journal, proclaiming, after finding a Dragon in their den, that "this🀅 boon [is] beyond our wildest dreams! This one will drink every drop of the Dragons blood in your name."
8 The Mace Of Molag Bal Is Also Referred To As The Va🐼mpire's Mace
With Molag Bal birthing the first true-blood vampires, lending their hand in the formation of various pure bloodlines that stand to this day, such as Skyrim's Volikha𒁏r clan, it's no surprise then🏅 that there is a wealth of vampiric imagery connected to his very being.
His infamous mace which can be found in the abandoned home a short way into Markarth is simply known as the Mace of🐼 Molag Bal, but it also goes under another title, the Vampire's Mace.

This is because these Dagoth Ur loyalists, in spite of their pale appearance and blood-red eyes, are not actual vampires, but rather extremely adept sorcerers, as House Dagoth, like most of Morrowind's inhabitants, frown upon the undead leaches. There's a fair amount of cut content with Dago⭕th Ur, and the Ash Vampires are no exception, as there was a limited number of th✃em and it was originally intended to weaken the final boss a smidge should you kill one, adding up as you took them all down.
5 🌸 Fort Dawnguard Was A Prison

M♛orrowind truly despises vampires and has gone to extensive lengths in hunting them down, resulting in very few clans residing in their lands. For context, Vivec, a living god of The Tribunal, has his own set of guards known as the Buoyant Armigers who themselves were caught up in said hunting.
As such, one of their own being afflicted with the disease was a truly horrendous act, even if accidental, and so when this happened to Galur Rithari, he did everything he could to find a cure. He kept a journal that detailed his fight against vampirism but claiming🀅 he found a means to stave off the infliction was seen as heretical, so many copies were destroyed, leaving it as a rare colle🌺ctor's item.
3 Alchemy Has Been Used To Create Artiꩵficial Vampirism
There are many types of vampires in Elder Scrolls, from the aforementioned pure-bloods to the infamous vampire lords to the bloodfiends - ferals. Howeve🌱r, there also exists a form of vampire that is created through alchemical means.
These are the harrow✅fiends, a breed of feral vampires much like their bloodfiend cohorts, who are victims of harrowstorms, a magical disaster inflicted by the Icereach Coven who combine vampiric alchemy with dark magic. These vampires possess no soul and are zombie-like in nature, acting on an instinctual hunger.
2 Cyrodiil Is Home To A Singular Vampiric Tribe, The Order 🔴
There are many bloodlines and clans across the landscape of Tamriel and they tend to be incredibly territo👍rial, constantly in war with one another over their feeding grounds, but Cyrodiil's reigning vampires managed to drive all competition away, barring the odd loner.
This tribe of vampires calls itself the Cyrodiil Vampyrum Order. They are elitists in nearly every sense, viewing themselves as more enlightened than other clans. They worship Molag Bal, their "father", but also the Daedric Prince Clavicus Vile, who apparently helps with their craving for blꦅood.

Each Daedric Prince has its own plane of existence, their own world. In the aptly titled Oblivion, we see Mehrune Dagon's stereotyp❀ical hellish Deadl𓆉ands, but Molag Bal's is a bleaker, less cliched landscape with the fitting title of Coldharbour.
This is where the name Daughters of Coldharbour stems from. These are women who have survived a ritual with Molag Bal, becoming pure-blooded vampires. Few survive, but you can meet one of these rare beings in Skyrim, Serana.
