9 Hulk

Although Hulk operates as an unstoppable freight train in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he doesn't necessarily play as one in Marvel's Avengers. The green giant is relatively slow in his overall movement and attack speed, which makes him difficult to control. One would hope this slowness would be made up for in power, but he really isn't that strong unless you encounter a big group.

If Hulk is overwhelmed by a large number of enemies, his Thunderclap is extremely effective in clearing the area around him. By slamming his hands together, the Avenger knocks everyone down near him and causes significant damage. Hulk is useful as a supporting character, but you might be in store for a few headaches trying to play as the not-so-friendly giant. In the cosmetic department, there is an Endgame skin, but because it isn't Smart Hulk from the film, it does look a bit weird on this version of the hero.

8 Clint Barton ﷺ

Arriving in the Future Imperfect expansion, Clint Barton offers somewhat lackluster abilities but can still make an impact somewhere. Coming after Kate Bishop, Barton's overall skillset seems very redundant. His Support ability, Recovery Arrow, is a welcome sight, as not man♎y heroes can deploy a heal f🤪or themselves or their teammates.

Barton's Nightstorm Arrow can be effective, but aiming the zone can get a bit fidgety and cause headaches when trying to place it correctly. It can be upgraded to include elemental damage, but on the surface, it isn't the best of Assault abilities. Luckily, Barton makes up for its offensive deficiencies with his Ultimate ability, Hunter's Arrow. When activated, it doesn't matter where an enemy is hiding — the smart arrow will track anyone down and pierce them up to ten times. His Ultimate can come in handy against a large number of opponents or when trying to take down a single powerful foe.

7 Iron Man

Since the MCU began, Iron Man has been front and center, soaking up all the attention. Unfortunately, his abilities and overall mechanics don't translate as well in the gaming world as they do on the big screen. His flying maneuvers aren't perfect, but they're tolerable in getting from place to place or gaining an aerial advantage. Iron Man excels at long-range attacks with his energy blasts but can annoy enemies by keeping them in mid-air with various combos.

Being able to fly around a map is great, and once you upgrade his ammo to include rockets, he is a force to be reckoned with. Because of his flight ability, it might be a bit frustrating trying to main Iron Man, but having him as a secondary supporting character can help the strike team immensely with his Arc Overload ability. And for any movie buffs playing the game, Iron M♎an has a pristine Endgame skin that will surely get the waterworks flowing.

6 ♐ Captain🏅 America

If you're looking for some old-school beat'em up action, there's no one better than Steve Rogers. Captain America is a tremendous hand-to-hand fighter, and it's always satisfying to throw his shield at enemies. You can upgrade his shield throw to target multiple enemies during normal attacks, not just his Steamroller Assault ability.

Although Cap is a super-soldier, he has difficulties with mobility. Yes, he can double jump and run on walls, but that's just not as effective as flying or using a grappling hook. Rally Cry is a useful technique to use, especially in large fights, to quickly fill the gauge for everyone's Heroic abilities. But if there's one area that Captain America reigns supreme, it's cosmetics. You have the option between Cap's outfit from the first Avengers film or Endgame, letting MCU fans pretend it's actual Chris Evans fighting M.O.D.O.K. and his robots.

5 Black Panther 🌳

The latest expansion, War of Wakanda, brought King T'Challa into the fold. With his home nation of Wakanda under attack by the likes of Ulysses Klaue and Crossbones, Black Panther teams up with the Avengers to drive their forces out. Black Panther plays similarly to Captain America with his ability to double jump and run on walls, but the Wakandan king is, naturally, a bit more ferocious with his attacks.

Black Panther can pounce on enemies and continually claw them for several seconds. You can upgrade this ability to be able to pounce on larger enemies, like the giant A.I.M. bots. Similar to his MCU counterpart, Black Panther can use the built-up kinetic energy of his suit to deliver devastating melee combos that can render enemies useless. 4 Thor

In the campaign, he is a late addition though, and doesn't have as many solo acts as his fellow teammates. Because each new character starts at level one, Thor will be severely underdeveloped compared to the other Avengers, but can quickly get up to speed by constantly upgrading his gear for the highest power level possible.

3 🔜 Kate Bishop

The first added character in Marvel's Avengers, Kate Bishop is on a mission to find her missing mentor, Clint Barton. After the fateful A-Day, Barton goes missing, along with Nick Fury, and Bishop suspects A.I.M. is responsible. Sure enough, Bishop tracks him down (with the help of the Avengers) at an A.I.M. holding facility.

Although Bishop is an archer like Barton, it doesn't mean she has the same playstyle as him. From her time infiltrating A.I.M. facilities, Bishop stole a teleporter device that she incorporates into her skillset. She can warp around the map, confusing the enemy forces, and her Support ability Decoy can really cause some headaches. You can upgrade the ability to allow Bishop to swap places with her hologram, adding another wrinkle to her incredibly fun playstyle. 2 Black Widow 🍬

It's easy for someone like Black Widow to be forgotten about. Despite being one of the other Avengers without actual superpowers, Natasha Romanoff is one of the best characters to play as in Marvel's Avengers. Even though you're capable of playing any of the aforementioned heroes, Kamala Khan is the de facto main character. The game follows Khan on her journey in repairing the broken Avengers, so it's only natural that she feels like the most balanced character in the game.

Khan has solid mobility, being able to swing around the environment with her morphed arms, but she also has the bonus of being able to leap great distances. Her elasticity is great for medium-ranged attacks and her overall ability list makes her the absolute best weapon against waves of enemies. Because she's one of the only heroes with a healing ability, including her on the strike team is a must. Given her offensive and defensive capabilities, there's no question that Ms. Marvel is the best character in Marvel's Avengers.
