The most recent title to launch, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, was a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:huge success despite mixing things up with a more RPG format, and the spin-off game Judgment has proven successful enough to warrant a sequel. However, ﷽despite the success of the main series and Judgment, there are꧂ a number of Yakuza spin-off games that we have yet to see in the west.

5 ও Ryu ga G✤otoku Kenzan!

Miyamoto Musashi in Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan!

Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan!, which translates to "Like a Dragon Arrives!", launched in 2008 for PlayStation 3. It was a first in more ways than one; it was the first Yakuza spin-off title, the first game in the series where some of the characters had their faces modeled after their actors, and it was also the first in the series to launch on PlayStation 🌳3.

The game takes place in Kyoto and is set in the Edo period in 1605. It follows Miyamoto Musashi, a historical Japanese swordsman, but with a Yakuza twist — Musashi is physically the same in appearance as🍷 Kazuma Kiryu, although obviously, he wears the proper dress and hairstyle of the era. In fact, many of the Kenzan cast are characters lifted from the mainline series and even use the same names in some cases. For example, Musashi uses the name "Kiryu Kazumanosuke" as an alias in the game. The game retains the same characteristics as the Yakuza series, including substories and minigames.

4 Kurohyou: Ryu ga Gotoku Shinsho ꦜ

Kurohyou: Ryū ga Gotoku Shinsho, or "Black Panther: Like a Dragon New Chapter", was the first in the series to launch on a portable console — arriving for PSP in 2010. It also received a TV series adaptation in the same year. This game introduced a new protagonist called Tatsuya Ukyo, a rebellious young man who finds himself getting entangled in the affairs of the ꧒Tojo clan.

Tatsuya is forced to fight it out in the Dragon Heat fighting arena with the aim of winning ten consecutive battles, where his prowess in combat earns him the nickname "The Mad Dragon of Kamurocho". The game does feature the ꧙Florist of Sai, who players know from the main s👍eries, but none of the major characters from the other Yakuza titles make an appearance.

As a portable game, it varied from the main titles in some aspects and instead features a one-on-one-style combat system and animღated motion comic cutscenes. Part-time jobs are available to earn money, as well as a multiplayer mode. However, some staples remain, su🧜ch as and heat actions.

Kurohyou 2: Ryu ga Gotoku Ashura-🍰hen (Black Pantherౠ 2: Like a Dragon Ashura Chapter) launched on PSP in 2012 and also received a TV series adaptation in the same year. It features similar gameplay mechanics as the first Kurohyou title.

The game takes place two years afte𝓡r its predecessor, with Tatsuya discovering that the Dragon Heat arena is under threat from another fighting ring group called Ashura. As a result, Tatsuya teams up with othe🏅r young fighters to save Dragon Heat.

2 ඣ Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin!

Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin!, which translates to "Like a Dragon Restoration!" launched in 2014 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. Though seemingly similar to Kenzan as both spin-offs are set in historical Japan, the two storylines are entirely separate. Ishin is set in the Bakumatsu Period between 1853-1867 and follows Sakamoto Ryoma, a historical Japanese samurai. Once again, this protagonist bears a familiar face — that of Kiryu. Other characters bear the resemblance of Yakuza favorites, such as Okita Soji looking like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Goro Majima .

Ishin featured four different fighting styles that players could change between during battle, a mechanic that was adopted for later Yakuza titles such as Yakuza 0 and Kiwami. Substories and minigames once again returned, with the fan-favorite karaoke mini-game being included. There are also quirky little gameplay elements, such as Sakam💃oto being able to befriend animals who then retrieve items for him and a new side-game battle dungeon.

A free app for the PlaySta🐽tion Vita was available on release that worked in conjunction with the game, allowing players to train their character, earn money, and obt💙ain items that they could then carry over to the actual game.

Ryu ga Gotoku Online launched in 2018 for Android, iOS, and PC as a free-to-play title. It takes the format of a collectible card game with gacha elements. There is a storyline for the game, with a number of new characters that later featured in Yakuza: Like a Dragon having more of their backstories explored. The Online storyline includes canon plot elements, though there is some debate as to wh🃏ether the game as a whole is canon.

This game was the first to feature the series' new protagonist, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ichiban Kasuga, however, Kiryu does feature in his own story chapter. Other Yakuza favorites also appear within various story cha𝔉pters in the game.
