Minecraft Dungeons’ first DLC is scheduled to release sometime in July. Very little is known thus far about the expansion, titled Jungle Awakens. Microsoft has released surprisingly little regarding the patch, other than the name of the patcꦦh, as well as 🍎sharing the name of the DLC, and the month of release. Currently, it is still unknown exactly when in July the DLC will unlock.
Fo🍌rtunately for fans, there is an active data mining community who have been hard at work seeking to help figure out what to expect in the expansion. Maps, pets, gear, artifacts, and consumables have all been discovered and while not confirmed for this DLC, some clearly align with the upcoming jungle theme. Below, we will highlight both confirmed and rumored content in more detail.
Confirmed DLC Content
While the initial DLC may have felt underwhelming to some as it did not include a specific release date, upon closer review, there is a significant amount of information and details available worth exploring further. First of all, we know there are three additional missions planned for Jungle Awakens. If the DLC follows suit of the base game release, there also remains the possibili🍬ty that additional unannounced levels may find th🧔eir way into the DLC.
Next, we know the DLC is bringing three new enemies, namely the Jungle Zombie, Poison Quill Vine, and Leapleaf, as well as yet to be defined others to mix up gameplay. This is particularly good news for those who have played through Minecraft Dungeons at all current difficulty levels, as they provide a necessary freshness last felt when approached by an onslaught of Mooshrooms ꦆon Mooshroom Island.
Next, the of🍒ficial release promises new weapon🌞s, armor, and artifacts, but offers very little in the way of details. The official press images reveal what appears to be some sort of green and pink whip, reminiscent of Indiana Jones. We do see ocelots in the press images, but it is unclear if they are pets, enemies, or both!
Lastly, we know that cross-platform play remains a specific upcoming goal to the game, as well as the promise of free content unlocks for all, regardless of whether or not they have purchased the Hero Edition or other DLC. The above additions alone would satisfy a healthy DLC, however, data miners have discovered ev🏅en more clues of wha𒅌t is to come with the DLC.
Rumored DLC Content
The unconfirmed good stuff is below, including map names, pets, gear, artifacts, weapons, consumables, and even a potential new quest system. To start, the level loading screen titles appear to give away the name of at least two of the new maps, aptly titled Overgr🎉own Temple and Dingy Jungle. Again, this is not confirmed, but given where the file was found and why, it seems highly pr♐obably these will be found in the DLC.
Pets are a fan favorite in the Minecraft universe, and are quickly becoming popular in Minecraft Dungeons. Even the official press release for the Jungle Awakens DLC mentions the chicken pet, ▨so it will be nice to have access to a few others for the time being, especially🍌 for those who have not stumbled upon the wolf summoning artifact. In the data files for jungle awakens, the team at has identified a colorful red🅰 parrot, which would fit nicely with the t🍨heme.
In terms of weapons and artifacts, there are some cool hints at what is to come also discovered by the Windows Central team. First, of course, is the whip weapon type seen not only in the game files but the press images from Mojang. Next, there is a🍨lso Ocelot armor, which appears to come in different colors. Several new artifacts have been referenced as well, including an amulet called Caller’s Bane, Corrupted Seeds, and a Totem of Soul Protection, amongst others. There is also mention of potions and diamond dust, sꦜuggesting a potential new consumable, as well as perhaps new vendor type for the players’ campsite.
Finally, the same team discovered some icon packs that suggest the potential for daily and weekly missions. While there was very little to confirm this beyond the icon pack, it would be an exꦅciting change that would assist in the monotony of grinding for unique weapons and items.
That is what is known so far regarding the first DLC to arrive in Minecraft Dungeons! Clearly, the team at Mojang is taking the expansions seriously, adding three new levels to a game that started with only 9, and not shying away from meaningful new enemy interactions, weapons, pets, and consumables. Sharpen those swords and load up on your enchantments, as Jungle Awakens will be here in July.
