Gaming company Konami abandoned AAA game development in 2015, dooming many of their popular franchises, not the least of which was Metal Gear. Fans were thrown for a surprise recently when the debut entry, 1998's Metal Gear Solid, and 2001's Metal Gear Solid 2, made their way to GOG.
While this in no way marks a return 💮for the franch꧑ise, it is nice for people to have an easy way to access these legendary titles. The original game is the outlier among the three, probably having been played the least by fans. But before jumping into it, be weary of a few things.
10 Use A Guide ☂
Like many action games of its era, some of the clues and ways to progress are extremely obtuse. Going into the 1988 title without any sort of guidance will no doubt lead to extreme frustration. Before reaching such a point, just crack open a guide to make some of the more difficult parts more tolerable. Do not see it as failure, especially since most players will💯 probably give up without some sort of walkthrough.

The setting is radically different and numerous other details change. This PC version is based off of the original game the way it was meant to be played. Gamers in North America did not get access to this original version until 2005's Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence.
6 It Had A Sequel Before Metal Gear Solid
Only three games from the series were put onto GOG, but there were more than three games prior to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Before Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake came into existence, Snake's Revenge was developed and released in the West. Hideo Kojima had no involvement in this game, and its creation was a key factor in a proper sequel coming about. Not everybody loves playing games on PC, even a simple game like Metal Gear which almost anything can run.

Few games over 30 years old age well. While Metal Gear's gameplay holds up, some of the challenges and things one has to do to progress can be incredible frustrating. Metal Gear was Hideo Kojima's first notable game in his catalog, but it was the second on which he worked. Before designing and directing Metal Gear, he had the role of assistant designer on Penguin Adventure, another MSX title.
