The Xbox Games Showcase was an exciting event, opening with footage from campaign. Here's everything we learned about Halo: Infinite during the Xbox Games Showcase.
Play As Chief
343 Industries stated they heard the community "" in a press release in 2018 and vowed to focus on the Master Chief in Halo: Infinite. The demo proved this claim, as the campaign shown thus far is played throug🐎h the🌳 Chief exclusively.
However, the campaign may be split between two perspectives: that of the Chief and the marine who rescued him. The Chief sends him on his own mission at the beginning of the campaign, suggesting there may be another side to the story weꦜ haven't seen yet. That, or he will be the character for a second player in co-op mode. At this point we still don't have much clarity on the subject.
The Banished Return
in Halo: Infinite last month on Twitter. Now, the demo has confirmed that they will be the campaign's main 🐟antagonist.
The Banished are a splinter faction of mercenaries that rebelled against the Covenant and came to power after the end of the Human-Covenant war. At the beginning of the demo, Master Chief tells the man from the "Discover Hope" trailer that they must defeat the Banished in order to return home. Then, the leader of the Banished, Atriox, appears at the end of the Halo: Infinite demo in a hologram where he declares that his campaign against the humans and the Master Chief wꦇill be his "last hunt."
Chief Has A Grappling Hook
It seems some of the developers at 343 Industries may be Pathfinder mains as well, as they've given Master Chief a grappling hook in Halo: Infinite.
There was a segment of the demo where Master Chi🧔ef shot a grappling hook at an enemy and pulled himself toward it. Later, he used the grappling hook to get to the top of a cliff.
Much like Pathfinder from it seems Chi🐻ef's grappling hook can be used for mobility and combat, though it's seems to be a bit slower and less flexible than Pathfinder's signature ꦉability.
Overworld Map
Similar to the map used in Destiny, the campaign features an overworld map which displays the field, its terrain, and your objectives. This also suggests there will be a more open-world feel to Halo: Infinite compared to pre🎀vious games, which were more line♐ar in structure.
The 343 Industries representative speaking at the end of the demo also stated that Halo: Infinite will feature a Halo ring "sever𒆙al times larger" than those in the previous gam🐲es.
Holiday 2020
The Xbox Series X is scheduled to release Holiday 2020, so when it was revealed Halo: Infinite would come out at the same🎐 time, nobody was surprised. However, it was reiterated that it will be launching on the Game Pass catalog as well.
Still, we don't know the exact date when either the console or the game will release. At the moment, we can assume it will be sometime in November, as that has been the month each Xbox console (Xbox One S excluded) has been released thus 𒁃far.
Multiplayer Preview Coming Soon
The 343 Industries representative claimed a multiplayer demo would🌜 arrive in the near future. We don't know the exact date yet, but again, it will likely come before November this year.
Hopefully, it will demonstrate co-op mode in addition to online multiplayer. ཧIt would be even better if they showed off Forge mode as well, though that may warrant its own, separate preview.
