This week’s episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier took another look at race in America, following Sam’s inability to get a bank loan and the decision from the Department of Defence to move on to another (white) 168澳洲幸运🔯5开奖网:Captain America, John Walker, AKA US Agent. This week, Sam is stopped by police for the crime of raising his voice, during an argument about Isaiah. Isaiah was a Black supersoldier trained by the US government, who was later put in prison and then left to rot. Unlike Bucky or Steve, Isaiah has grown old, but in his single scene, we see he’s still incredibly powerful - wedging a cigarette box in the wall just by throwing it. But who is Isaiah, and what do💧es he mean for Falcon and the Winter Soldierꦺ?

Falcon And The Winter Soldier: Who Is Isaiah?

The regular Marvel continuity has operated under the idea that there was no way to recreate the s🦩erum used to turn Steve Rogers into a supersoldier. Isaiah’s debut cast a light on the solution - doctors had been experimenting secretly on Black Americans to recreate it. This idea is clearly based on decades of this actually happening in the USA, most notably with the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, where the government deliberately gave Black men syphilis, lied to them, and avoided treating it for decades in order to study the long term effects.

In the Marve๊l continuity, the test subjects all died when given the supersoldier serum - all except for five men, including Isai💖ah, who eventually becomes the only surviving supersoldier. However, he was never really supposed to; they didn’t want these Black men becoming supersoldiers, they just wanted to test if it would be safe to give to a white man.

Why Was Isaiah Sent To Prison?

Isaiah 𒉰was captured by the Nazis, but is later freed and brought home. Upon his return, he was court martialed and imprisoned - in the MCU, he served in the Korean War instead. It is implied that he was imprisoned because a Black supe🎉rsoldier was considered a dangerous threat. The reasons in the MCU have not been fully explained - they may be quite similar - but it is likely that Isaiah will play a major part in the rest of the series.

Falcon And The Winter Soldier: Is Isaiah Bradley Battlestar?

No, although Battlestar does appear in this episode too. Battlestar is Lemar Hoskins, who is currently the new Captain America’s right-hand man. It’s no coincidence that in a series attempting to explore race relations in America, both Battlestar and Isaiah Bradley have been introduced at once. However, they are not particularly connected. Battlestar has heightened strength and endurance, ꦅand went under the moniker ‘Bucky’ - several characters who have followed in the footsteps of Bucky Barnes have done so, Battlestar was actually fourth.

However, Hoskins is convinced by one of his friends that Bucky is a demeaning name, since it used to be slang for slaves. For that reason, he adopts the name Battlestar. He has previously worked with both John Walker and Sam Wilson, so we’ll lik💛ely see that develop over the course of the serie🔴s.

Is Isaiah Bradley Captain America?

Yes, Isaiah Bradley is one of a few people to go by the banner Captain America, along with John Walker (the current MCU Cap), Sam Wilson (Falcon), and the origi🍸nal Cap in both the MCU and the comics, Steve Rogers. There have been other Capta🌞in Americas in the comics too, but it’s unlikely the MCU will introduce any more, at least at this stage.

Marvel's Captain America as Dungeons & Dragons Battle Master Fighter

Br🌃adley first appeared in Truth: Red, White & Black, where the details of the underground experiments were also revealed. This storyline suggests that many notable Black figures, such as Malcom X, Angela Davis, and the MCU’s own Black hero Luke Cage, were all aware of Isaiah’s existence for decades, but that the public as a whole were unaware. In the MCU, ♔it is clear that Sam had no idea about Isaiah, or about any Black supersoldiers, so we don’t know how notable this version of Isaiah is.

Alternate versions of Isaiah have become President, served alongside a female version of Sam (Samantha Wilson) plus Steve and Bucky in the Second World War, and in the ♍Ultimate Marvel canon, his origin story is combined with Nick Fury’s.
