Fallout 76 has been on an unstable roller coaster that's barely held up by a wooden foundation ever since launch. Bethesda's attempt to make Fallout into a multiplayer game did not satisfy the fan base and largely dismantled trust in a once esteemed developer. Fallout 76 sent gamers into the wasteland of West Virgini🍎a with about 20 other players rummaging about in the surprisingly colorful world.
Even after the backlash, Fallout 76 still has a dedicated player base. These players have seen countless updates as Bethesda tries to fix their game. The next major update comes on April 7, 2020, and it promises 👍a much-desired feature - NPCs. It also adds many new things to the game, making it a revolutionary package fo﷽r the long-running multiplayer wasteland.
10 𝔉 Two New C𝓀osmetic Bundles
This is, by far, the least desired addition to Fallout 76. For one, each of the bundles cost money, when everything else on this list is free. Two bundles will be available: the Raider content, seen above, and the settler 🃏content. Each one provides new outfits, armors, and C.A.M.P. items.
The settler's bundle is a much more꧑ friendly take on the content above. They do 𝓀have some merit by making you look cool in front of other players. Bethesda's did not state a price for these cosmetic upgrades.
9 💫 New Weapons ღ
There is not much information about this one. Bethesda simply promised new in the Wastelander's expansion. The vast array of weapons was never one of Fallout 76's probleꦫms, so this is a welcome addition but not a needed❀ one.
Developers usually use expansions to experiment with unique weapons. It will be fun to see what Bethesda com🌠es up with. The other entries on this list, though, finally give fans content that should have been in the base game. Weapons are simply the icing on top of the cake.
8 🌸 New Enemies
A brief trailer teased a new deadly enemy for Fallout 76 players. ♏This creature has gigantic arms that are used to walk and tiny legs that hang off its torso. Basically, the opposite of a T-Rex. It's attack patterns were not revealed, but its app🐻earance is enough to make us excited.
There was another brief glimpse at some nasty, flying bugs - everyone's favorite enemy type! The expansion is sure to add more enemies but they were not revealed. This entry is much like the last one. New enemꦐies 🃏are good, but it's not the main ingredients of the Wastelander's expansion.
7 New Locations 💙
Several new locations were teased for the Wastelander's expansion. They will serve as hubs for the raider and settler NPCs. One location is called the Watogo Underground, a city in the southeast corner of the map, according to . The🌸 city🃏 will also feature an underground car park.
The other locations will be a construction yard called The Foundation and a Space Station called Crater. New places to explore are always a welcome sight in Fallout. It looks like Fallout 76 will be more lively th💮an ever, considering all the other towns are mostly barren.
6 🃏 ♋ Revamped Original Questline
In a surprising twist, the main for Fallout 76 is about to change. Originally, it had players follow in the footsteps of Vault 76's Overseer. There are no details about how the questline will be revamped, 🅰but it will start as soon as you exit the vault.
This is a way to entice new players while giving older players an opportunity to jump back in. Hopefully, Bethesda will incorporate NPC's into the questline, mak✨ing it into a more traditional Fallout game. We'll have to wait and see how big of a change this will actually be.
5 Ne🎃w Story Quests
Apparently, Wastelanders will bring a new main quest🧔line along๊ with a revamping of the old one. The new quest will likely feature the struggle between the two new factions: the raiders and the settlers. This is a great addition because it will likely follow a more traditional Fallout story.
The original quest was lacking in depth, simply because there were no involved. Quests were found through computers, documents, and robots. It lacked the presence of emotions and real conflict. It's always greaꦺt to get new ꦚstory content, especially when it improves on the previous offerings.
4 A New Avenue 🤡To Play: Steam
Previously, Fallout 76 was only available through consoles and Bethesda.net. The game🧸 will be coming to Steam on the same day as the Wastelander's expansion. Atoms, a membersh📖ip, and the will also be available on Steam.
Atoms and a Fallout 1st account will not be able to transfer between a Steam and Bethesda.net version. It's always a good thing when there is wider access to a game. The lackluster reaction to Fallout 76 may be enough to keep Steam players away though.
3 Companions/R𝐆omances
Companions make a return in Fallout 76, but they won't work quite the same as they did in past installments𓆉. Players will get a chance to win NPCs over through dialogue and specific questlines. Once they become a companion, players have the opportunity to romance them. Companions won't be able to follow the player outside of their designated city.
Bethesda said this was due to technical limitations for the multiplayer game. This is a bit of a downer, but companions are always a great part of any action RPG. Their presence will, hopefully, add some flavor to Fallout 76, that's if they are unique and developed well.
2 🐭 Reputation System 😼
Remember the good old days when Fallout tracked your actions, and different factions responded appropriately? Well, that's returning in . There will be two factions that can either love you or hate you. It depends on the number of queꦕsts you do for them and h🌱ow well you treat them.
There will be seven ranks to work through, such as hostile, neutral, and ally. A good faction reputation will also give the player new goods at stores. This is an old concept, but it's nice to see it finally coming to Fallout 76. It's actually starting to look a little like a Fallout game!
1 NPCs
This was a no brainer being that it's the main crux of the expansion. People from outside are entering Appalachia and making it their home. These NPC's will set up settlements and players can talk to them through a Fallout 3 style dialogue system. They will be staying in♏ their designated settlements as to not interfere with the multiplaᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚyer components.
For example, if one player kills an NPC, then another player won't be able to talk to them. To fix that, Bethesda made the settlements into single-player sanctuaries where players can talk to NPCs and receive quest lines. A lack of NPC's was one of the biggest frustrations with Fallout 76, and it's finally being added.
