Many fans consider 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Fallout: New Vegas to be the best 3D game in the series, so it's always a good idea to take a look at the perks available in that game. Below is a list of the best perks that your character can equip in Fallout: New Vegas.

Updated May 10, 2024 by Zackary Wiggs: A cult classic, even among the Fallout games as a whole, Fallout New Vegas took the series to the wild west with new threats, new experiences, but a war that still hasn't changed. As Courier 6, you'll have plenty of tough choices to make throughout your journey, including what kind of perks you'll invest in. Heavy-hitting weapon perks, ones that help you sneak past your enemies, or just ones that make you healthier by and large; here are some of the perks you may want to check out, whether it's your first or dozenth playthrough.

15 Shotgun Surgeon 💟

Buckshot Removal Is Extra

  • Shogun Surgeon: Ignore ten points of an enemy's damage threshold with shotguns.

There are plenty of different builds to use to complete Courier 6's journey through the Mojave, and each of them has perks that will greatly benefit them. Shotgun builds are no exception to this. In fact, due to a few key details, they are one of the better builds out there. The Shotgun Surgeon perk earns a spot here as the only weapon type perk for a few reasons.

Shotguns are incredibly easy to find at any level, from a sawed-off to the high-level hunting shotgun, there's always one you can by or salvage. They are often devastating on a per-shot basis, especially at close-quarters and against unarmored, or lightly-armored, targets. Shotgun Surgeon increases that devastating ability, meaning medium and heavy-armored enemies also can be taken out with just a few shells.

Combine this perk with different ammo types like pulse slugs to be able♍ to do more damage to special enemy types.

14 ⛦ Strong Back 🧜

A Caravan Of Your Own

  • Strong Back: With the Strong Back perk, you can carry 50 more pounds of equipment.

As you venture throughout the Mojave Wasteland, you are more than likely going to find hundreds of pounds of equipment you'll want to grab. From weapons to chems and everything in between, you're going to need a lot of room to carry around everything you want.

Strong Back is a fantastic s🦩olution for this, granting you an additional 50 pounds of carry weight. Any❀one who has been caught short of becoming encumbered while foraging for valuables will know how powerful this perk can be.

13 Light Step ꦉ

A Softer Touch

  • Light Step: You will no longer set off floor-based traps by stepping on them.

There are few things more frustrating than having to restart an old save because a landmine you didn't see took you out. A keen eye is one thing while exploring the old ruins and Fiend encampments, but why worry about traps at all?

Fallout: New Vegas has some pretty durable armor scattered acꦐross its map. Here's where y🔥ou can find the best of them.

With Light Step, floor-based traps will no longer be a worry. You can walk, sneak, or run over them, and they won't go off at all. This is incredibly helpful in areas like the town around the Sierra Madre with what feels like a trap around every corner.

Your companions can and will still set off these traps if they walk over or near them, so make sure to travel alone or disarm any before they get too clဣose.

12 Swift L♋earner

Book Smart Meets Street Smart

  • Swift Learner: Adds an extra ten percent experience points any time experience points are earned.

The higher level you are in New Vegas, the better a lot of things get for you. Better p🌼erks, more health, and better loot too; it never hurts having the chance to level-up faster, which means Swift Learner comes in handy pretty early on. With this, you add another ten percent to any experience points earned, and that adds up quickly.

It is a perk that you can grab as early as level two, which means more experience for you early on, especially for those big main-story quests. Plus, there are three levels that you can put into this perk, which means an extra 30 percent experience points added on any time you kill an enemy, finish a quest, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:find a new location, or plenty of other things too.

11 ♐ 💞 Silent Running

Don't Let Them Hear You

  • Silent Running: Running no longer factors into a successful sneak attempt.

Crouch-walking towards targets is one of the worst aspects of a melee-oriented stealth build. Silent Running fixes this by making your maximum crouch speed produce no noise,꧑ an absolute game-changer for melee stealth builds.

Enemies in New Vegas make two checks to detect someone they look for enemies and they can hear enemies. Silent Running removes all audio-related checks enemies m🍌ake altogether, meaning a build that has a maxed sneak skill can easily melee targets without getting caught. Combine this perk with Implant M-5 and Tunnel Runner for some absurd movement speed while crouched.

10 Chemist

We Have To Cook

  • Chemist: Doubles the duration of all chem effects.

Despite what the description implies, every aid item in New Vegas benefits from Chemist such as Stim♌packs and fooꦰd.

Nearly everℱy healing item in the game becomes twice as strong thanks to this perk, making it an invaluable perk for Hardcore playthroughs. This perk pairs especially well with Psycho, Turbo, and the Implant GRX perk.

9 Robotics Expert 🐬

The Hard Reset

  • Robotics Expert: Adds a 25 percent damage bonus to all attacks against robots, and adds the option to deactivate them while sneaking.

Of all the various enemy types in New Vegas, robots may not be the most numerous out there, but they are one of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the more deadly to come acros♚s. Eyebots, Securitrons, Protectrons, and even deadly Roboscorpions. The only thing worse is all those da🌺rn mutated bugs.

Yes. 🎶Reading is still important, even in Fallout: New Vegas' irradiated wasteland.

Robotics Expert means you will always be hitting robots a bit harder, which is great s💜ince their mechanical bodies are usually more resistant to damage anyway. Plus, those with a penchant for sneaking have the option to hit their off-switch when they get close while sneaking.

8 Finesse And Better Critica🐷lౠs

Hit 'Em Harder

  • Finesse: You gain five percent increased critical hit chance.
  • Better Criticals: Your critical hits deal 50 percent increased damage.

Critical builds are some of the strongest in Fallout: New Vegas. This is mainly due to how potent critical damage is on most top-tier weapons, such as energy weapons. For those that want to kill enemies in a single shot, there isn't a more iconic duo than Finesse and Better Criticals.

Finesse will grant a five percent increased critical hit chance, while Better Criticals grants 🍨50 percent more critical hit damage. One perk is decent on its own, but both become top-tier when used together. A five percent critical chance boost might not sound great on paper, yet the way New Vegas handles criticals means this is anywhere from a five percent to a 25 percent critical chance increase based on the weapon.

With a high enough Luck stat and the Built to Destroy trait, critical builds can output critical hits repeatedly that are all boosted by Better Criticals' absurd 50 percent damage increase. Just be sure your weapon has a good critical percentage multiplier before taking both of these perks.

7 Enh🐼anced Sensors

They Call Them Eyebots For A Reason

  • Enhanced Sensors: Better chance to detect enemies, even cloaked ones.

While t🥃he various level-up perks will take up most of your decision-making process, it is important to have a quick aside to take note of companion perks. There are plenty of good companions to travel the Mojave with, each with their own additional perks that they give you too.

Of all of them, few are as beneficial as Enhanced Sensors. This is given to you when Ed-E is traveling with you, and makes it much easier to detect enemies. It's pretty much an instant and continuous boost to Perception. It never hurts to know where your enemies are before they see you, regardless of build.

6 Sniper

Get Your Beret Ready

  • Sniper: Get a 25 percent accuracy bonus when targeting an enemy's head in VATS.

Taking an enemy out before they can close the distance never gets old. The Mojave wasteland and its 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:wide-open spaces are great for those with a keen eye and a steady hand, so it o🐓nly makes sense to make good use of the various rifles you find across Fallout New Vegas.

The Sniper perk greatly increases your chance of a hit on an enemy's head in VATS, which funny enough, is usually their weak spot. Combine this with a sniper rifle, anti-material rifle, or good old-fashioned cowboy repeater, and you'll be making Boone proud in no time.
