A fanmade Banjo-Kazooie remaster project is making the rounds and it's reminding everyone that we need more 𒁃from the ไbird and bear duo immediately.
, YouTube channel 🦋Project Dream first uꦅploaded a video of the Banjo-Kazooie fan remaster a few months ago. Since then, the channel has uploaded three more videos, showcasing Banjo-Tooie's Jinjo Village, Rusty Bucket Bay, and Mad Monster Mansion.
Each video showcases the levels, which have been recreated using the original geometry of the level, just with added high-resolution textures. It🐲 doesn't look like the levels are actually playable, and instead, it seems like t🦋he videos are just showcasing how the levels and world would look in a potential remaster of the game.
Regarding the project, Project Dream said, "Note: This is a fan-made trailer! As a huge banjo fan I have always wanted to see what a remastered version of the original 1998 game would look like. I set out to produce a trailer that would capture the attention and ignite a little bit of nostalgia that Banjo-Kazooie brought to all of us. This was done using the original N64 geometry with high-resolution textures, environments & scenery rendered in the program Lumion. I look forward to producing more remastered scenes from [Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie] so🅷 keep a lookout".
, which was apparently the most requested level to get a makeover, as well as showing off a model for Banjo very briefly. Wheth𓄧er or not these levels will ever, or can ever, be made playable isn't too clear, but at the very least it's great to see what a modern Banjo-Kazooie might look like. The effort put in here ൲is seriously impressive.
Fan reaction to the trailer has been very positive, with Banjo fans taking to the comments to request different levels be remade with the new textures. Many viewers are expressing pain at the fact that we're more likely to see this fan remaster reach a conclusion than we are to get a new𝕴 Banjo title from Microsoft.
