About 20 years after the inception of the series, fans are now clam☂oring for ♋a new entry in the series.
The first installment in the Perfect Dark franchise, developed by Microsoft development studio Rare (then developing for Nin✨tendo), came out on May 22, 2020. The game was released for the Nintendo 64 and later re-released on Xbox Live Ar🔯cade.
Now that we've reached the first game's 20th anniversary, fans are clamoring🃏 for a new game in the series.
As per , a series of celebratory tweets hoping for a new Perfect Dark game can be seen below.
While it is rumored that a new Perfect Dark game is in development, there has been no confirmation of this.
The Perfect Dark series is beloved by Rare fans far and wide. While the game's later follow-ups weren't as well-received as the original game or its remaster, the series is one among Rare's classic series that have yet to make a return. Others include follow-ups to Conker's Bad Fur Day or a non-Smash Bros. comeback for the Banjo-Kazooie series.
The Perfect Dark game was nearly the perfect follow-up to Rare's GoldenEye adaptation for Nintendo 64. Featuring a wider arsenal with better presentation and refined gameplay, Perfect Dark gets a deserved amount of love. Hopefully, the series comes back in some form, wh🍷ether it's an Xbox Series X release or a return to Nintendo platforms.
