EA has defended its decision to keep including loot boxes in FIFA 22 by stating its goal is to try andᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ make the game as close to real football as it possibly canꦫ.

FIFA has returned for another year via FIFA 22 and despite growing pressure on video games to reclassify loot boxes, or perhaps even remove them altogether, Ultimate Team has returned. The only major difference is one that was introduced towards the tail end of FIFA 21's run, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the addition of preview packs.

Preview packs allow you to see inside a pack before you buy it. The only caveat is if you opt not to buy, the contents of the pack will not change for 24 hours. As for why EA continues to include loot boxes in FIFA at all, aside from the massive amount of money it brings in, the studio's chief experience officer says it's all about making the game as close to the real thing as possible.

“The idea is we are doing our best to reflect the real world of football,” Bruzzo explained to 's Wesley Yin-Poole. “We want to strengthen the connection between the real world sport and the game... we have created these things over a long period of time to actually mirror what it feels like.”

Bruzzo uses Everton, the team he supports, as an example. Some of Everton's top players are injured right now which forced them to put out a less than stellar starting 11 against Manchester United, yet they still managed to nick a draw. Bruzzo says EA wants FIFA to mirror that experience. Everton can't just buy a top player to replace one that's injured, nor can they simply buy Lionel Messi. That real-world quandary for football managers is supposed to be mirrored in FUT.

The problem with this analogy is it also brings what is a problem in real-life football to FIFA. That the teams, or in FUT's case the players, with the most money can effectively buy whoever they want. Then again, if they spend all that money on FUT packs then they also run the risk of not landing their desired players and cosmetics at all. It's unclear how forking over a bunch of cash for a loot box that might have Ronaldo in reflects how actual football works, but there you go.
