This is not all due to fashion but ♚comes from fans loving the characters' personalities and story arcs. This classic game from the early aughts is full of the spirit of the time in which it was created: a colorful, experimental, joyful time that is embodied in the characters' clothing designs. From the antiquated coolness of indoor sunglasses to the cultivated silliness of a pair of pants with different leg lengths, all of these characters represent something for which to be nostalgic.

10 Rikku

Rikku from FFX in battle

Rikku is a spirited mechanic and tech, or machina, expert, which shows in her mechanic's gloves, a curiously empty tꦓool belt, and a relatively tiny pair of goggles she wears around her neck in a nod to cyberpunk culture. Besides these details, Rikku very nearly dresses like your average 90s girl, with her cropped plain tank top, short-shorts, and bobby-pinned, face-framing bangs, reminding us that, at 15, she is still more kid than Guardian. As far as Final Fantasy fashion goes, she is pretty tame.

9 Wakka

Wakka from FFX performs a killshot

Wakka is the captain of the Besaid Aurochs, the team at the very bottom of the Blitzball league. With his oversized buttercup-yellow waders, it's not hard to see why — Wakka should know better than to wear something thatಞ's going to cause such terrible drag in the water.

The waders look like they're covering a pair of belted jeans, which might be the only article of clothing worse for speed swimming.𒆙 At least his sky-high, Ariel-red faux hawk keeps him looking 90s fresh.

8 Kimahri

Kimahri from FFX roaring

Kimahri is a Ronso, a race of catlike warriors known for their battle prowess and stoicism. Kimahri's outfit is not so much about what he is wearing as what he isn't, and how that shows off his impressive physique and excellent blue fur. This m༺inimalist garb makes sense for an acrobatic warrior, giving him free range of motion for spearing foes. Even the little details, like the feather epaulets that broaden his shoulders, or the skull-shaped buckle on his chest, add to his imposing image.

7 Tidus

Tidus from FFX standing in the water with his sword

Tidus is the happy-go-lucky hero of FFX, and, even from 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the amazing opening sequence of FFX, it is his growth as a character that we are meant to be most invested in. His half-grown nature is completely reflected in his outfit. The yellow jacket seems ill-fitting and calls to mind the sweater his mother wears in flashbacks to🅺 his fraught childhood, signaling that he's outgrown the protection of his childhood home, even while he longs for it. The medallion around his neck and his iconic pants — with one leg🔯 shorter than the other — are reflections of his father Jecht's clothing, but where they have a mature style on Jecht, on Tidus they look a little bit clownish.

His look is best realized with Wakka's gifted Brotherhood sword in his gloved hand, a meeting of his past life as a Blizball star, and his future as𒅌 Yuna's guardian. The overall effect is e🔜ndearingly haphazard, and a little bit ridiculous, like Tidus himself. The mismatched styles evoke a boy on the cusp of manhood, someone struggling to find his place in the world, and who hasn't quite managed it yet.

6 Dona

Donna and Bartello in Kilika in FF10

Dona is a summoner with a Sin-sized chip on her shoulder. She is a style inspiration not so much for her actual clothing, but f🎶or the way that she manages to straddle two different ideologies even in her fashion choices. She's a summoner, which means she's idealistic and religious with a respect for tradition, and her long skirt, thick sleeves, and obi-inspired belt feed right into that image. But she's also snarky, cynical, and fully in control of herself and her destiny. She will not be made into your obedient sacrifice, and the non-traditional cutouts that flaunt her body are decidedly at odds with the average chaste, be-robed summoner.

5 Lord Braska👍

Braska and Auron rescue Jecht from jail in FFX

High Summoner Braska is Yuna's father and a mysterious and aloof character who barely figures in the game. Braska is an almost mythological figure, even to Yuna, and his most defining characteristic is that he defeated Sin and made the necessary sacrifices to do it. Braska's summon𝄹er costume is a beautiful patchwork of scale-like fabric that evokes a fish — a nod to his island home of Besaid. But betw💃een the enormous headdress and a robe that obscures every other physical attribute, Braska is visually subsumed by his identity as a summoner - a beautiful role, but one that doesn't recognize the personhood of the summoner involved.

4 Auron

Auron stands above Zanarkand in FFX

Auron is the rarest of Final Fantasy characters — an actual grown-up. At 35 he has🐭 a gruff swagger that only comes from knowing things, and this is𝓀 reflected in his clothing choices.

Auron has achieved a perfect blend of functionality and style: the gray in his hair lends him an aura of authority, and also adults don't have time for vanity; cradling his arm in his jacket broadcasts the fact that he has seen some tough battles, but also comes in handy when he needs added mobility for swinging that giant sword. The sunglasses an﷽d high collar hide his emotions, amplifying his stoicism, but they also come in handy as protection aga𝐆inst the blinding idealism of his young charge, Tidus. Auron is what happens when pragmatism meets sophistication.

3 Lulu

Lulu from FFX posing in Besaid

Lu🔯lu's look manages to be completely appropriate for her role as a black mage, and also completely at odds with her surroundings. This duality fits Lulu's character to a T - she is always there to throw some shade over Tidus's sunshiney attitude, and at the same time, she offers him more helpful advice than any other character.

Lulu gets points for intricacy — all those belts and braids show an ability to focus (pun intended) and get the job done. She's a character who commits, both to her loved ones, and to her role as a guardian, and nothing says commitment like wearing fur to look the part of a black mage when y♏ou live on a tropical island. She must be so, so hot, but she never looks anything but cool.

2 ♌ Seym♐our Guado

Seymour and the Yevon Maesters FFX

The villainous Seymour Guado is a dark prince who would have you believe he is your savio༺r. At first, your party does believe he is as righteous as he claims, partly because Seymour himself believes it so strongly. His flowing rob𒐪es and traditionally inspired sash reflect that he is one of Spira's old guard, but the luxurious mix of textures and colors that he flaunts remind those around him that he is there to shake things up. His audacious hairstyle declares that he will take up whatever space he wants among Yevon's higher ranks. Despite clearly being in the wrong, Seymour is one of those tragic figures who never quite realizes it. His elegant robes reflect the deference that he gives to Spira's traditions but the opulence on display reminds you that he demands that obedience for himself as well.

1 Yuna

Yuna performing the sending in Kilika in FFX

Lady Yuna is the heart and soul of the FFX story. Her clothing evokes a fairy princess, with the delicate flowers trailing up her long skirt, and her wing-like sleeves. She is supported by a stunning obi, her honor for tradition literally holding her together, and holding her to her purpose. Given the delicate femininity of the rest of her clothing, her hair and footwear are surprisingly pragmatic. She wears heavy black boots for her long journey, and her hair is cut into a practical and plain style, extremely rare for a feminine Final Fantasy character. Yuna is not one to hide behind long bangs; she's got a job to do and her mismatched eyes are open to the truth. She's also not above kicking off her shoes and exposing her weaknesses. She's a character who finds gre♓🌊at strength in her vulnerability.
