In many ways,168澳洲幸运5开奖网: Final Fantasy 13-2 is the antithesis of its predecessor. Whereas the original Final Fantasy 13 is a fairly linear affair for the majority of its tale, Serah Farron's hit follow-up trades rails for open spaces filled with secrets. Both games excel in their own ways, but getting comfortable with 13-2's meandering style can take some time for players who have grown accustomed to 13's more horizontal traipse across Cocoon.

Use Mog to Find Treasure

Final Fantasy 13-2 Mog

Mog accompanies Serah and Noel oꦜn their epic quest through Final Fantasy 13-2. He says the word "kupo" verbatim rather than making an animal-like noise that sounds vaguely kupo-esque, which is grounds for immediate dismissal to some steadfast Final Fantasy veterans. But love him or hate him, you can — and absolutely should &mda♌sh; throw him.

The mascot moogle has a treasure tracker on his head. It glows when he's within the vicinity of trinkets that Serah should totally snag. Keep your eyes on his eyes, and follow along as he makes increasingly desperate sounds. Most of the time, you will locate the treasure🌼 just seconds before the urge arises to kupo right﷽ back at the guy.

But, let's get back to throwing. There are instances in which you can't simply rely on line-of-sight. Some treasures are beyond Serah's bounds. Others are out of view entirely. When this occurs, press L1 on a PlayStation controller, RB on an Xbox controller, or whichever corresponding key you've got assigned on your keyboard. Take aim and toss. The honorable Ms. Farron will send Mog into midair, not unlike a volleyball. He'll soon return with the reward.

Thoroughly Explore Your Surroundings

Final Fantasy 13-2's gameplay zones aren't exactly Skyrim-sized, but they're significantly larger than all but one location in FF13. Secrets are everywhere, and they're no longer marked by short, obvious detours off the beaten path. The "beaten path" is now wherever Serah and Noel decide it is, after all.

Explore to your heart's content. Items, gil, rare monsters, even short side q𝓰uests can only be found in this manner. ꦇSquare Enix clearly put a lot of time and care into making 13-2 feel a bit like a road trip across time itself — and every era has its tucked-away shiny trinkets.

The Mog Clock Matters

FF13-2 Mog Clock

Some RPGs are turn-based. Others are pure action. Final Fantasy 13-2 straddles the line a bit, giving gamers an impetus⛦ to pay attention to positioning at the onset of ♋battle. When enemies begin to materialize and a fight draws near, the Mog Clock kicks up.

At first, the Mog Clock's "hands" point to the color green. Players can either flee while the monsters haven't noticed them or move forward and attempt to attack them with a weapon. Doing so grants the party Haste status and hampers foes a tad via an uptick to their Chain Gauges. If this doesn't seem feasible, just ram into the monster instead. The battle will begin with standard conditions instead of giving you a nice boost, but it's preferable to the other potential outcome.

FF13-2 has an infinite retry system. A fight can be tried over and over again if it's lost, preventing game overs in the traditional sense — unless the Mog Clock runs out, in which case retries are unavailable, and losing means returning to the most recent save file instead. Ouch, kupo.

Late-Blooming Monsters Outpace Early Peakers

finalfantasy.wikia.com

Monster-collecting is kind of Final Fantasy 13-2's thing. Serah and Noel are a two-person team for much of the game, but people aren't the only ones who can be relied upon to help save the world. Recruiting feral foes into the ranks may sound like a bad idea, but it's one of the most addictive features in any Final Fantasy game once things get rolling.

There's more to monsters than just this tidbit, but for a quick tip, pay attention to the parameter that includes "Early Peaker," "Late Bloomer," and "Well Grown." Early Peakers only travel around the Crystarium — that's FF13 and 13-2's character growth system — once. But their stat increases during that single revolution are fantastic, so it's tempting to stick with these creatures for the full game.

To be clear, there's nothing wrong with dragging a few Early Peakers with the gang. But Late Bloomers, while they start with some pretty impressively dire stats, can ultimately complete five rotations around the Crystarium. More often than not, the number-crunching will not only even out between the two types but eventually allow Late Bloomers to surpass Early Peakers altogether.

If you're wondering what Well Grown means, it's essentially the crop of monsters whose growth falls somewhere in-between. There's not much point in stocking up on these.

Find Fragments

FF13-2 Fragments

It's better if we don't spoil what fragments are used for since several of the associated rewards can be somewhat on the spoiler-y side. While that's not much of a pitch, rest assured that fragment-finding will lead to plenty of perks.

Those perks can include ways in which to lessen the pressure during specific gameplay scenarios, enhanced cutscene controls, in-game artifacts, and more. There are 160 fragments in Final Fantasy 13-2, and yes, there is a reward for gathering every single one of them. But collecting every fragment in an individual area often leads to a reward as well.

Many of the game's optional activities are tied to obtaining fragments in some fashion, which ties back to a previous point — explore!

Shift Paradigms

Final Fantasy 13-2 Battle

This last tip should seem familiar if you've read our 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:similar guide for Final Fantasy 13. Like that game, Final Fantasy 13-2 utilizes the "P😼aradigm Shift" system which allows characters to cycle through six job-like roles (fewer early on, mind you) to suit their combat circumstances.

And, just like FF13, it's imperative that you take full advantage of this system when the going gets rough. The majority of the time that 13-2 seems to have spiked in difficulty, the true perpetrator is an enemy team that mandates mixing things up. There are instances, as few as they are, where three Healers or Sentinels is your best bet. Broadly, however, a combination of different roles will be critical to victory.

Swap roles accordingly, putting points i🦩nto them all so that Serah, Noel, and their monstrous friends are ready for anything fate has in store for th🔴em.
