While at Gamescom, executive editor Meg Pelliccio was able to sit down with Yoshida and chat about the recent release of the Dawntrail ex💛pansion. During the interview, Yoshi-P started to talk about the City of Gold, Living Mem☂ory𝔉 in Alexandria, aꩲn🔯d very casually confirmed that it's part of the ninth reflection.

Yoshi-P expresse🐈d that the team wanted players not to just read the story, but to experience it as a game. When it came to sear⭕ching for the City of Gold, he wanted that to be expressed within the story and that it needed to be done authentically to do a "proper job". After noting that, Yoshida suddenly revealed that Alexandria is from the ninth reflection instead of the 12th as some fans had theorised.

It's a bit surprising that Yoshi-P just decided to randomly confirm this out of nowhere considering how much it's been discussed by fans, but it does make some sense considering Alexandria is based on Final Fantasy 9 and features a lot of references to that game. When you think abo🐻ut it, the City of Gold being from the ninth reflection is pretty perfect
