The main story of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 14 𝓀is finished. For many of us, that's still sinking in. Endw👍alker resolved the saga of Hydaelyn and Zodiark in superb and surprising fashion whilst never losing sight of why so many players fell in love with the plot in the first place: the incredible cast of characters. It stuck the landing, but now we've landed. And yet, FF14 director Naoki Yoshida promises at least another ten years of ongoing support.

Where will you take us, Yoshida? And under what impetus will you do so? The lovely thing about these questions is that there's still plenty of unexplored material in FF14's rich setting. Truly, it is one of thꦉe largest and most culturally layered worlds not just in RPG history, but even when propped up against epic fantasy series such as A Song of Ice and Fire and The Wheel of Time. Just because the big bad is gone, that doesn't mean there aren't smaller bads (and wonderful good people) to be found elsewhere.

This list, by its very nature, must assume that the reader has beaten the Endwalker expansion and is thus caught up in the present state of the game's world. If you have not completed the story up to the end of 6.0, we strongly advise you not to read on. As for the rest of you, buckle up. We're going on 💃a grand adventure — G'raha Tia's favorite kind of adventure, don't you know!

6 Meracydia

The Scourge of Meracydia

The southern continent of Meracydia remains an enigma. From space, it appears to be positioned at least partly at the center of the large sea south o🅺f Thavnair. It's possible that there is some deg🧸ree of cross-cultural dialogue between the people of Radz-at-Han, or even Dalmasca; but if so, it's nothing that the player base knows about.

Said to be the home of the dragons Bahamut and Tiamat, Meracydia immediately attracted fans to its allure even when that was first mentioned around 2017 or so. But with the revelation thatไ the dragons are from the distant cosmos, a fair bit of sadness emerges. After all, Midgardsormr regarded the Source (our world) as the last hope, the only place to raise his brood.

Mera🌺cydia, as far as we know, is plagued in many parts by the scourged lands left in the wake of a botched Allagan invasion many thousands of years 🌳ago. But we'd be willing to bet there's still plenty of storytelling opportunity in a place that spawned the first Miqo'te,

5 ཧ ☂ The New World

The New World Final Fantasy 14

Far to Eorzea's west lies a continent referred to only as "the New World." They say most fantasy tilts toward historic Earth-esque develop🦄ments sooner or later, and this is when the gloves came off and Final Fantasy 14's writers decided to go all in. Up until about 80 years prior to the initial events of FF14, Eorzeღan scholars frequently argued the merits of the continent's mere existence, let alone fanciful claims such as cities of gold and ancient Hyur populations with a love of the color blue.

That last bit's important because this is where Blue Magic was born. The exotic job class demonstrates a likely closer kinship over there between man and monster. Plus, like Meracydꦛia this is an entirely new continent. The next expansion could establish all (presumed) six maps there, plus one or even two grand cities and all the dungeons it needs.

4 Dalmasca

Dalmasca FF14

At one point in Final Fantasy 12, important ally Basch exclaims that he "never knew Dalmascan air could taste so sweet." He's been stuck inside a dungeon for years, so the obvious implication is it's his first real taste of fresh air in a long time. But honestly, Dalmasca is pretty sweet. It's a desert kingdom, sure, b♔ut a nicely diverse one.

The Dalmasca of Final Fantasy 14 probably isn't set in the same universe. But Ivalice creator Yasumi Matsuno's blueprints are visible everywhere, not least of all because he has contributed to the writing. We've been to Dalmasca through Stormblood's alliance raid series, and that series is often cited as the finest that FF14 has yet delivered. Its perfect blen🦂ding of the original Ivalice's multiple eras and some of this award-winning MMO's toughest combat challenges make it even more memorable.

Dalmascan happenings continue in Shadowbringers' Bozjan Front questline, but will we one day be able to traverse the cap꧙ital city of Rabanastre as guests rather than active liberators? If it lets Matsuno write a bunch of dialogue for NPCs hanging out in Nalbina and the Westersand, we're all for it.

3 R✱eflections of the Source

Kholusia Shadowbringers

After the Sundering, the people of Etheirys split into so many fragments. Each of those fragments becomes its own dimension, with the Source — the main setti♉ng of Final Fantasy 14 — echoing in 13 worlds called "Reflections." That's actually quite the shorthand, to the point that important details are missing, but𒊎 if you're reading this article we assume you're familiar with the rest of that tale. Best not to turn this into a thousand words about how cool Venat's hair is, after all.

We know the fates of several Reflections. Their primary elemental aspects have rejoined w📖ith the Source through the millennia for various reasons and to varying ends. Quite a few Reflections remain separat🐎ed, however; most notably the First, which is the setting for the bulk of Shadowbringers. The First's world is almost fully consumed by Light, but the region of Norvrandt remains. We get to know its people, and there's so much about the cultures here that is deliciously dissimilar to what we're accustomed to seeing in the Source.

Indeed, one of the many reasons Shadowbringers is so praised is that all this societal shifting turns the world we knew on its head and forces us t𝓀o start all over again in a land where no one knows you as the Warrior of Light. You're just 🐟another starry-eyed adventurer.

This approach can be replayed on any of the surviving Reflectio♏ns, to any desired effect. Perhaps there's a dimension in which time is at a near-perfect standstill, an eerie tapestry. Maybe certain Reflections contain sentient races that have long since died out elsewhere, allowing the art department to go wild. What if one Reflection is basically Final Fantasy 9 retold? The ideas are endless. With Y'shtola dead set on learning how to come and go from the First at will, perhaps our favorite scholar will find a way to open the door to several dimensions.

2 The 🍨(Real) New World

lost hydraulic platform in ultima thule

Among its many splendid surprises, Endwalker expanded the scope of FF14's world into a universe. The science-fiction themes evident in Shadowbringers were brought forward exponentially, to the point that longtime JRPG fans h🌠ave joked they got their Star Ocean (or even Xenosaga) sequel where they least expected it.

Sure, Meteion found nothing but dead worlds out there. But dead worlds can spring to life through the power of, you know, magic. Or more specifically, Yoshida's talented team of writers. But do they even need to? What if there are planets the sisters simply didn't find? Must the whole universe be death and decay? It𝕴's doubtful.

What if we were to trav𝔉el to another planet, one whose people are in the throes of nihilism, determining that all is for naught, just as did the Ea and Omicrons and countless others before them? To save that world from itself — that sounds like a job for the Scions. Or perhaps Meteoin's warning that the universe's stars were drifting apart, an obvious Final Fantasy nod to the heat death of our very real universe, leads to a plot about preventing that?

While it might seem to be trillions upon trillions of years away from the lives of the adventurer and their friends, per our own scenario, Meteoin did mention that the Endsinger has hastened it. That'🍎s more than enough narrative breadcrum🎀b for us.

1 Absolutely Anyplace Else 🦄♛

Final Fantasy 14 Naoki Yoshida Live Stream Dr ink

Us fans thought we knew where the story was headed after Shadowbringers. The final boss, or at least the penultimate, would be Zodiark. Fandaniel would factor in there for sure. That wa🌠s the buildup, right?

Instead, Zodiark's brought to heel roughly a third of the way into Endwalker's main scenario. Fandaniel goes and dies on us. Hours lat🍒er, we learn about the true threat to the universe. It could have been disastrous, but the writers made it work so well that few players dislike the twist.

The point is, it's easy to say Meracydia🌠 is the next location. Or another Reflection. Or another planet altogether. It would be just as easy to say that the setting will involve the identities of the Twelve, except we know that's coming via raids, so yeah. But Square Enix Business Unit 3 has taught us time and again to expect the unexpected. For all we know, Final Fantasy 14 7.0 will be called "Loporriteartickler," and the pitch is that we're shrunk to centimeters with the goal of tickling a wicked Loporrit's ear until they (somehow) sneeze.

There would probably be a twist even then — the Loporrit was in service to Rowena all along! — and then the final boss is an obsessed narcissist, the one and only Jessie from Garlond Ironworks. Perhaps the safest bet on the next Final Fantasy 14 story setting is that whatever it is, wherever it is, it wo🐷n't be what we wanted. But it will be what we needed.
