It’s 2023, and I’ve only just completed the Binding Coil of Bahamut. This was the first ever raid added to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn way back in 2013, with the Final Coil launching in October 2014. That means it’s taken me nearly ten years to complete. Don’t get me wrong. I am bad at raids, but I’m not that bad. It hasn’t been nearly a decade of me constantly trying and failing to complete it. I tr🎶ied the content at its peak, failed miserably, and p𒀰retty much just gave up then and there.

I’ve never stuck with raids because I’ve never been particularly skilled at them, failing to remember which mechanics for which fight and unable to stop myself from feeling 𝔉like a complete and utter burden when I eat the dirt multiple times in a single run. There’s only so much shame a Bard can take.

I didn’t have a core group of friends willing to try the content and get some practice in, and running content with strangers is rather unforgiving. Sure, you can jump into practice runs through Party Finder, but these have their own shar✃e of issues of people dropping as soon as they get what they want, getting impatient, or just taking forever to find enough people to run the content. Especialꦿly the old stuff like Bahamut.

I’ve never really cared about missing out. I don’t mind if I don’t get the shiny gear from raids, and it’s not like I’m really counting up my ilevel because, as a casual pla♎yer, I don’t run any hardcore content that needs it. The only thing I ever want is minions and mounts. I did wistfully look at the Wind-up Louisoix, the reward for completing the Final Coil, an𓆉d wondered if I would ever attain it.

I usually rely on Moogle Treasure Troves to get some of the mounts and minions I struggle to earn legitimately. Achievement rewards don’t feature in these events, though, so if I wanted Louisoix, I would have to get off my butt and earn it. Fortunately, Square Enix added in the Unrestricted Party function to Duty Finder, so yo𒉰u can complete content without level sync. This means older content is entirely soloable or manageable with a smaller party, depending on the mechanics involved.

This is how I got many of the original trial mounts, though later꧒ ones I scooped up through farming Moogle Tomes. I had written off the Binding Coil of Bahamut, and it only occurred to me recently that I could just blitz through it solo. It took no time to complete it and claim my prize, but the victory felt hollow despite finally getting the minion I wanted. It’s not fun doing this alone. I imagine it feels better when it’s something that’s hard to so🐲lo, but when you’re in and out in minutes without trying, you don’t deserve the victory fanfare.

When it comes to challenging content, I feel like I’m missing out by not experiencing it when it's fresh and exciting. It’s strange to think there was a time when we all used to bemoan the trials and tribulations of The Navel Extreme and The Whorleater Extreme, because n♎ow they’re all child’s play. Remember when The Steps of Faith was a nightmare? You’d run Duty Roulette, find yourself in The Steps of Faith, and suddenlဣy half the party would leave because they didn’t want to deal with it. Although now, no one has to deal with it because it got nerfed into a solo instanced duty.

As painful as content can be when it’s brand new and unfamiliar, it just makes the feeling of ac꧃complishment so much more satisfying when you manage to conquer it. I should get up to date so I can experience content at its height, as it is a better experience than doing it alone years later.

That’s not to say that you can only enjoy the content at its peak, as playing with friends can make any old content feel fun again. Team Bread, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the Free꧟ Company I joi💃ned a few weeks back, regula🅘rly runs older duties to help members mop up rewards. Last week, we churned out some Alexander Savage runs to get everyone the Arrhidaeus mount. I think it’s fugly as hell, but hey, I won’t say no to another mount being checked off my list.

It took us just a couple of minutes to complete each round of The Soul of Creator. Who needs to know mechanics when your target is either dead or switching up to the next phase before you can even fire off a full rotation? It was effortless. Much like soloing the Binding C🌱oil, it also didn’t give the warm fuzzies you get from smashing difficult content, but it was fun because I was doing it with others. We chatted away on Discord and laughed while everyone got their mounts, and in many ways, maybe completing the content is just as rewarding as completing it at its prime.

Either way, I’ve learned that doing things alone can be effective but boring, and I’d much prefer to do it with others, even if the content is easily soloable. I keep promising myself thatꦜ I’ll get up to date with content, so maybe I’ll do that and see how much I fail at the latest raids. At the very least, it’ll give me something new to complain about.
