General Trial Tips

The Megaflare dodge operates differently than your standard precision dodge, but it does still count toward the "Precision Dodge" bonus. The trick to nailing a Megaflare dodge is to dodge into the attack, as opposed to timing the attack and dodging the last moment before it makes contact. You will initiate the perfect dodge if you come into contact with an attack at any time while the Megaflare dodge's animation is playing out. So, make good use of the Megaflare dash so that yo🍬u can get both the "Megacharge" and "Multiflare" b🧸onuses.

While in the fly state, you won't be able to perform most actions, but there are a few exceptions. If you have the Satellite ability activated before you enter into the state you will be able to use it. So, make sure that while you dodge you have the Satellite ability out so that you can earn the Satellite bonus during the fly state. It is also worth noting that, while in this airborne state, you will be able to use the taunt ability, which will help bait out those attacks quicker.

The Full Flare bonus needs to b𓃲e gotten by h🍰itting a group of enemies. You will need to get that bonus before the final round (where you are fighting fewer enemies).

Location Of Bahamut Chronolith

In order to locate Bahamut's trial, just head straight to Northreach, and leave the city via the northern gate. Once you are out of Northreach, travel to the eastern corner of the map. Once you enter the Cape Orsiere, keep heading east. You'll find the Hand of Mimas right near the cliffside.

Bahamut's Trial Guide

When completing Bahamut's Trial you will work your way through a three-stage gauntlet. These stages are lined with monsters that are suckers for Bahamut's signature Megaflare dash. This is ideal, as it will allow you to cash in frequently, and land an endless string of Megaflares.

Stage 1

The first thing you are going to want to ensure is that you secure a couple of bonuses against the first group of enemies. You will want to hit them with a punish attack (to do this, just land a standard combo and then attack them when they are down), Finish one of them with an ability; this is a good group to kill with your Fire Breath, so you can finish them off while acquiring the "Full Flare" bonus as well.

This stage will start wiꦇth a group of Revenants. They have a very slow-moving energy projectile. Use this to farm Megaflare dodges, and you can quickly summon a fully charged Megaflare.

The Lightbound Nodes have a beam attack that is also great for farming Megaflare dodges, as well. You will want to make sure that if you don't have the "Punish" bonus, "Full Flare" bonus or the "Ability Finish" bonus you get that now.

The Bavaros is another flavor of Flan, which means that it has that move where it twists itself up before spinning its arms all around itself. This is another perfect opportunity for a Megaflare dodge. However, its lightning attack is an even better opportunity. You can dash left and right through the lightning and fill your Megaflare bar in seconds!

Stage 2

The Collateral Impulse bonus is a free 12-second bonus. Every leg of this stage will have a group of enemies, and this bonus just requires that you hit two enemies with the Impulse attack. Every time that ability becomes available you will want to use it. Beyond that, you're going to want to get that Satellite ability out there, get flying, and dodge.

Unlike the previous stage, you will be able to get that "Punish" bonus during every stage. During the first phase, look to dodge the Reaper's projectiles. When it places down that energy dome you can dodge into it multiple times to quickly fill your Megaflare bar.

The weavers in the second round have slow-moving projectiles, so that is 👍an easy dodge. However, whenever you see a Raptor 𒁃jump back prepare to dodge the incoming attack (which will typically be a thrusting kick).

Finally, the last phase has a Champion, which is one of those slow-swinging, easy-to-dodge, big guys. He is an absolute breeze to dodge and should help you rack up your Megaflare very quickl🍎y.

Stage 3

While we often like to land that punish attack during the first phase to get it out of the way, it is probably a mistake to mix it up with those specters and ignore that Guardian. While the Guardian is great for getting those Megaflare dodges, you definitely don't want to turn your back on it. Having the Giglare ability is an incredible way to clear baddies. We say get that Guardian out of there as quickly as possible.

The Gigaflare will make the ability finish bonus nearly unmissable. You won't have to worry about aiming for it.

The next stage is super easy to get dodges off of, as the astrologers give you plenty of spells to dodge. The scorpions aren't much of a threat. They are a great enemy to get that punish attack off on if you didn't hit it in the first stage. ​​​​​​​

Once you get to the Cannoneir and Lancer look to take advantage of the Cannonier slow attacks so that you can build up your Megaflare hit them with it. The Cannonier's Flame Thrower is particularly good for maxing out your Megaflare extremely quickly.

Final Boss - Lightbound Warlord

So, right off the bat, you have the Gigaflare for this battle. That attack alone will peel just around a fifth of the Warlord's health off. In general, the Bahamut toolkit is going to make this a pretty fast fight. Use the Gigaflare whenever it is available. So, you can actually enter🉐 into this fight with a pretty tight time limit and still emerge victorious.

As for your Flare Breath, it is important that you never use this attack unless the Warlord is fully stunned. Or you are behind them as they are using their "Rictus of Horror" attꦕack, which is a giant beam that will lock them in place for quite some 𓂃time.

You are still going to be looking to farm those Megaflare dodges, of course. The aforementioned "Rictus of Horror" is a great place to start. Just dodge through that multiple times, and you will quickly build up your Megaflare in seconds. Beyond that, the Warlord likes to teleport behind you and swing at you with its club. These swings are ♈very slow an🌳d easy to dodge.

You will🦋 want to be locked onto the Warlord so that you can keep track of them as they♕ are teleporting.

Beyond that, the Warlord also has an easy-to-dodge projectile. If the Warlord starts gathering energy, it is about to explode. We'd suggest not trying to dodge that one and getting your distance instead. Keep hamme🦂ring him with those Megaflares a♊nd Gigaflares and he will fold quickly enough.
