Quick Links
Coeurls are a classic 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy monster. Felines with electrical attacks, they are often among the more d♓ifficult enemies you can face without counting bosses, and in some games, they have the rare abiliꦇty to inflict instant death, proving them to be formidable opponents.
In 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 16, they are no less scary. You'll face a coeurl as a boss fight during the main story, where it's given due reverence, and you can also fight some more unique coeurls through the game's sidequests. These calamitous cats are tough enemies, so read on below to learn how to deal with them.
How To Beat The Coeurl
You will face this coeurl as part of the stage set in Rosalith, during the main story quest Capital Punishment. You can think of this coeurl as a pretty standard coeurl, and you'll be able to find more pretty identical versions of this fight in the overworld, namely in Dhalmekia. That said, this coeurl does have some unique moves that you won't see elsewhere, so let's take a look.
The first thing you need to know about all coeurls is that they are fast. They will bound arounꦯd the stage a l🍬ot, making lock-on a must for these fights. Even their attacks often involve a lot of movement.
The table below lists the coeurl's moves.
Attack |
Description |
Electrified Bound |
After charging up a little electricity, the coeurl bounds forward and performs a small lunging attack. This is often used as the monster's gap-closer. This attack is actually very easy to avoid - when you see the coeurl start charging up, just move to the side. The enemy doesn't have great tracking on this attack so it will miss with the attack completely. |
Electro Ball |
The coeurl creates a swirling ball of electricity in front of it befo✨re firi🍰ng it at you in a straight line. This ranged attack has a linear trajectory, so while it is fast, it's an easy attack to notice and dodge. Alternatively, this is an easy attack to counter with Heatwave. |
Whipcrack |
After charging up its wiry wh🐻iskers, the coeurl starts thrashing them in an arc in front of it. Simply get behind the ♚coeurl to avoi♔d this attack. This is a long attack and, therefore, is a great opportunity to deal as much damage as you can with slower abilities. |
Lunging Claw |
A simple claw swipe attached to a lunge forward. The coeurl likes to use these successively if you're close to it. This attack comes out quickly and can be difficult to react to as a result. Thankfully, it isn't that highly damaging. |
Lightning Rods |
The coeurl pierces the ground with its whiskers, leaving behind rods of lightning that crea𝕴te a web of lightning across the ground. This turns the battl𝓰efield into a danger zone for a while. You'll simply need to be wary of this attack when it comes out, avoid the horizontal lightning bolts, and wait for the duration to time out. |
Coeurls will use all of these attacks with regularity, apart 🌠from Lightning Rods, which only comes out when the monster is low on health or has been Staggered once.
The coeurl in Rosalith has a unique move that no other coeurl in the game has - Electrocharge. When it uses this, its health bar will be replaced with a separate, purple bar as it charges up its ultimate attack. Your goal here is to deplete the bar with damage before the attack is fully charged.
If you let the coeurl charge its attack all the way, it will use Electric Burst, which deals immense damage and will l🍬ikely kill you i🐼nstantly.
Beating the coeurl in Rosalith (and, indeed, future coeurls in the wild) is a pretty easy task once you have their attack patterns learned. The best time to attack is during Whipcrack, and you can safely perform Precision Counter combos after dodging Electrified Bounds and Electro Balls.
If you're directly in front of the coeurl and it uses a Lunging Claw attack, aim a dodge backward and then immediately go in for an attack. If the coeurl uses a second Lunging Claw, you can reliably parry this with your follow-up attack.
After beating the coeurl in Rosalith, you'll get the following rewards:

300 |
Ability Points |
60 |
Gil |

How To Beat Minas
Minas is a beautiful white coeurl who is fought as part of the quest For Great Justice II. After findi꧒ng Quinten at Heavenh🦋all, the kitty will attack.
Despite its unique look and narrative importance, Minas has no unique attacks and can be thought of as an extra-powerful coeurl. It's level 33 and not backed up by any other monsters, so as long as you're at an appropriate level and have up-to-date equipment, you should have no problems taking it down.
How To Beat Bygul
While Minas is a pretty unremarkable opponent other than its pelt, Bygul actually stands out. This late-game hunt, located in Kritten Hollow within Waloed, is a level 40 coeurl with some unique moves.
It has all the usual coeurl moves, as well as those listed in tᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚhe table 🦩below.
Attack |
Description |
Static Torrent |
Bygul will start the battle by using this, and use it again after being Staggered. It summons circles of electricity around the battlefield, which will moment🥀arily be struck by lightning. As always with these types of attack, simply move♛🐷 out of the electricity circles to avoid this attack. |
Electro Ball+ |
Bygul's version of Electro Ball is followed up by two smaller, homing balls of lightning, making the attack harder to avoid. As long as you're aware of the extra lightning balls, you should be able to time your dodges efficiently to avoid this attack. |
Spinning Attack |
Bygul charges itself with electricity 🐓and then performs a leaping ওspin, which has a very large radius and also places the monster further away from you. Thanks to the er😼ratic movement of this attack🐻, the best way to avoid damage is to dodge right through it and rely on invincibility frames. |
Wild Charge |
Bygul charges itself with electricity and glows 🐓for the duration of this attack. It will summon lots of lightning strikes in the same fashion as Static Torrent, and then starts making consecutive pouncing attacks at you, leaping backward after each pounce to gain enough distance for the next. This is Bygul's ultimate attack and can be difficult to avoid, thanks to how chaotic it makes the fight. Thanks to how mobile it makes Bygul, this is a good time to employ ranged attacks, such as charged magic or Bahamut's Impulse. |
Overall, this fight isn't that much harder than a regular coeurl encounter, but Static Torrent and Wild Charge do prove annoying attacks to deal with, thanks to the hazards they add to the battlefield. As a result, it is important to stay alert during this fight and consider equipp༒ing accessories that improve your dodges.
At the end of the day, Bygul is still a coeurl, and you should be used to exploiting Whipcrack for easy damage windows by now.
For beating this Notorious Mark, you'll get the following rewards:
