The world of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 16 is full of wonder. Valisthea is full of mysterious ruins, mystical creatures, and plenty of fertile la🎃nd untouched by the invasive Blight. The realm is also home to a great deal of power, including the massive Mothercrystals that provide control over the very elements themselves.
Of course, as with any realm housing such promise and potential, there are a host of kingdoms vying for power throughout Valisthea. Mothercrystals, dominants, and the threat of the Blight have thrust the realm into its own veritable 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Game of Thrones. From the nefarious ambitions of Sanbreque to the honorable motivations of Rosaria, here's a breakdown of every nation's political goals in Final Fantasy XVI.
The Grand Duchy Of Rosaria
Rosaria is the homeland of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:our main character Clive Rosfield. The nation, situated on Storm's western side, has always been a noble and true kingdom. Clive's father, Archduke Elwin Rosfield, is heralded as one of Valisthea's most benevolent and good-natured rulers, prioritizing his people's wellbeing above all else.
Rosaria's goal has always been to help cultivate a unified and peaceful realm. With the dangerous Blight threatening his people, Elwin hopes to capture Drake's Breath, the Mothercrystal housed on an island controlled by the Iron Kingdom, to help strengthen his empire and expand further away from the dying lands. Unfortunately for Elwin, his wife, Duchess Annabella, has decidedly different motivations for her actions. It's clear that she hopes to see herself in a position of power and control over the entire nation.
After the game's earliest events, Rosaria's position in the realm's hierarchy of power changes drastically, with Clive and his brother Joshua directly at the center of the conflict. Still, Clive's uncle Byron quietly supports the restoration of House Rosfield, against the wishes of the powerful empire of Sanbreque. What remains of Rosaria's loyal citizens have one goal: to see their
The Holy Empire Of Sanbreque
The most dominant of Valisthea's nations (pun intended), The Empire is an enormous theocracy ruled by its holy emperor, Sylvestre Lesage. Sylvestre's son, Dion, is the Dominant of Bahamut, the mighty Warden of Light, and one of Valisthea's most powerful Eikons. Between Dion's fierceness and Sanbreque's colossal Mothercrystal Drake's Head, Sanbreque is an incredibly powerful force in Valisthea.
With the strength of his son and the sheer number of forces at his disposal, Emperor Sylvestre has been able to largely take control of any situation he so chooses. The Empire's influence spread far throughout Valisthea, and if Sylvestre had his way, he would expand his reign even further, much to the dismay of nations like Dhalmekia and Waloed. The Holy Empire, as its name implies, believes its rule to be the will of the goddess Greagor, lending them a sense of self-righteousness despite their dark actions.
Sanbreque's goals of conquest are partly motivated by the encroaching Blight, as the plague has ravaged much of their land. With dying crops and no magic use, citizens of Sanbreque are pushed further and further inland, and the Empire is not afraid to take new lands by force if necessary.
The Dhalmekian Republic
The Storm continent's southern nation, The Dhalmekian Republic, is technically governed by a parliament, with each of its five states being represented by a different member. However, like most governing bodies in Final Fantasy XVI, all is not as it should be, and many of the region's decisions and goals are dictated by the republic's special advisor, Hugo Kupka.
Kupka plays a significant role in the overall plot of Final Fantasy XVI, and his position as the Dominant of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Titan, the Eikon of Earth, gives him a significant amount of sway within the republic. While Dhalmekia is often drawn into intense battles with the Empire of Sanbreque over control of land and Mothercrystals (including Drake's Fang, the republic's own crystal), Kupka's motivations are solely focused on his own ambitions.
Often, Kupka will employ Dhalmekian forces to invade nations for selfish reasons, such as petty efforts for revenge. His willingness to align himself with whoever benefits him most makes the Dhalmekian Republic one of the game's most unpredictable nations.
The Kingdom Of Waloed
The land of Valisthea is home to two major continents. To the west, there is the continent of Storm, home to three of the region's major nations and surrounded by two others. On the eastern continent of Ash, however, there is only Waloed, the sole surviving kingdom in the area.
Waloed is a mysterious and powerful kingdom, with its enormous Mothercrystal Drake's Spine and its imposing military strength deterring other nations from encroaching on its territories. The kingdom is often tested by its surprisingly advanced neighbors, the orcs and other beasts who have lain claim to the rest of Ash. Still, Waloed sights are set on much larger prizes as their forces attempt to expand into the region of other surrounding kingdoms.
Waloed is home to the Dominant of Odin, Eikon of Darkness, making them a f🧸ormidable opponent for the imperial might of Sa🅰nbreque and Bahamut. With similar ambitions of conquest, their struggle for power seems as though it may never end.
The Crystalline Dominion
As the brilliant historian and scholar Vivian Ninetales states, the Crystalline Dominion could legitimately claim to be located at the center of the world. Situated directly between the continents of Storm and Ash, the dominion surrounds Valisthea's tallest Mothercrystal, Drake's Tail.
The Crystalline Dominion was the subject of a great deal of conflict, as its impeccable strategic position made it the subject of desire for many of the surrounding nations. With no Dominant of its own to protect it, the dominion saw many competing powers clash in an attempt to take control of the area. After years of bloods🐼hed, an agreement was reached among the ruling parties to form a peace treaty, with a representative from each nation being assigned to help govern the dominion.
With a treaty in place, conflict over Drake's Tail has seemingly come to an end. Now, the Crystalline Dominion's primary goal is to provide a peaceful and safe domain for all of Valisthea's citizens to come together and reap the blessing of the Mothercrystal.
The Iron Kingdom
The Iron Kingdom is not located on either Storm or Ash, instead being positioned just off of Storm's western coast. The series of islands is home to the Crystalline Orthodox, a group of religious zealots lead by a High Priest named Imreann.
Clive's childhood companion, Jill Warrick, was once enslaved by High Priest Imreann, and she makes it abundantly clear how dark the nation's motivations are. With the blessing of the region's Mothercrystal, Drake's Breath, the Crystalline Orthodox hopes to eradicate any Bearers or Dominants they find, believing them to be impure and unholy beings.
Despite their distaste for the realm's magic users, they are more than willing to use Bearers and Dominants alike for their own needs, including defending Drake's Breath from Rosaria during their battles over control of the Mothercrystal. Their ruthless ways make them a legitimate force in the war raging throughout the land of Valisthea.
