168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 16 joins the series legacy of RPGs with real longevity t𓂃o them. How many years has it been since a mainline Final Fantasy could be finished fairly comfortable within 20 hours? Was it FF4, back in 1991? Because we think it may very well have been FF4.

But expecting a long time and knowing just how long a time to expect, those are two very different things. And ultimately, a lot of this is going to boil down to how you approach your time in Valisthea. So, without further ado, let's see just how long it takes to beat Final Fantasy 16.

Since the game's only been out for a couple of days as of the time of writing, we've chosen not to go on HowLongToBeat for a change; only four (!) people have submitted their answers. Instead, we'll roll on what our own FF16 completionists here at TheGamer have experienced, and circle back to HLTB a little later!

The Main Story

Final Fantasy 16 Bearers

If your goal is simply to see everything that Final Fantasy 16's critical path has to offer, you should still set aside a good chunk of time for it. The game has tons of cutscenes, for starters, and a healthy amount of gameplay to boot. You'll traverse a wide multitude of dungeon-esque areas presented as stages, from sprawling forests and enemy castle keeps to otherworldly affairs that feel like trademark Final Fantasy.

Our analysis of FF16's main story length seems to sync with the early numbers at HowLongToBeat - expect about 40 hours' worth. Leading up to the game's launch, different senior staff remarked with '35' and '40', respectively, but it's long been the case that developers overestimate plot length a bit. In this case, their estimations appear absolutely valid.

With Side Quests And Mark Hunts

Final Fantasy 16 - Rosaria - Clive at Three Reeds

We won't sugarcoat it - many players have found Final Fantasy 16's early side quests to be more burdensome than breathtaking. Don't expect anything monumental here, like blitzball, chocobo racing, card games, or fishing. We'll take this opportunity, however, to suggest that you at least consider partaking in FF16's side quests later on in the game. While the gameplay formula never evolves that much, the storytelling is surprisingly superb.

Enough with the recommendations, though. How long are you looking at spending with Clive if your plan is to do all the side quests, not to mention the big bashes against powerful optional foes called marks? We'd say 70 hours seems like a reasonable estimate. That's not quite double the main story, but not too far off, either - there's a lot to do beyond saving the world here.

Final Fantasy Mode

Final Fantasy 16 - Final Fantasy Mode Unlock

Here's where things get interesting. In Final Fantasy 16, completing the game once unlocks Final Fantasy mode, which unlocks a higher level cap, retools enemy encounters, gives your foes significantly more fighting power, and rewards you with exclusive gear and other perks. Put plainly, it's not just New Game Plus as we tend to define it. It's a radical new experience.

The story's still the same, naturally. But the combat will feel fresh and invigorating. If you find Action/Story mode too easy, but you enjoy your FF16 experience overall, frankly, you owe it to yourself to give Final Fantasy mode a try, if not immediately then surely sometime in future. Of course, you're looking at replaying the full game again, and if that's going to include all the optional material (which it should, as that's been enhanced as well) your total clock time with Final Fantasy 16 will double to about 140 hours.

No Sunday picnic, to say the least.
