There's an open secret to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 6 — if you blitz through the only mandatory events in the World of Ruin, confronting Kefka with the absolute minimum number of party members, you can basically pretend that everyone else kicked the bucket on the Floating Continent. It's pretty messed up, and the ending is a farcical exercise in the worst sort of minimalism as a result. But it's doable.
We're going to assume that most players would rather enjoy the fullness of FF6's famously bleak second half, however, rather than turning it into something more akin to a "final ten percent." FF6 is often praised first and foremost for its eclectic cast of characters, after all. Continuing their individual story arcs — and recruiting a few new faces along the way — is what this guide's all about.
Updated on April 20, 2023 by Quinton O'Connor: The legendary sixth Final Fantasy joins its 2D brethren in launching on PS4 and Switch at long last! We're sure FF6 will be played aplenty in the months to come, so we've tidied things up here so you can get your crew back ASAP and show Kefka what's what.
The Required Returners: Celes, Edgar, And Setzer
Only three characters must be on the team before players are permitted to ascend Kefka's Tower: Celes, Edgar, and Setzer.
Unless you're drastically overleveled, you will likely find it extremely difficult to progress through the game's final dungeon in this manner, but it's technically doable.
Celes
Well, this one's a cinch. You literally start out in the World of Ruin as Celes. Short of turning off the game forever൲, there is nothing you can do to prevent this from happening.
Edgar
The whole planet's skewed now, with towns and landmarks tossed out all willy-nilly across brand-new continents. Still, there is a path of sorts that players must follow once they've reached the mainland from Cid's island, and following that path will take you to Nikeah. Here, Celes espies a man who looks suspiciously like our King Edgar. Follow him all the way to South Figaro, then Figaro Cave, and finally Figaro Castle. The gig is up, and Edgar rejoins.
Setzer
With Edgar back, take Figaro Castle to Kohlingen and visit the town pub. Lo and behold, here's Setzer. The reason that the game can be completed at this point is that Setzer's dungeon paves the way toward the Falcon, a new airship that can shuttle you off to Kefka's Tower. If, for whatever reason, that's your end goal here, by all means, feel free to stop reading!
The Fateful Eight: Sabin, Gau, Cyan, Terra, Shadow, Relm, Strago, And Locke
The bulk of the remaining cast includes characters you've had no choice but to involve yourself with for at least some World of Balance. Most of these characters have their own story chapter to enjoy. A few even unlock dungeons. Regaining the eight of them effectively provides players with the fullness of the World of Ruin's narrative.
We've ordered the characters based on roughly the earliest opportunity to recruit them, but there's no "one true" path here.
Sabin
It's entirely possible to grab Sabin before finding Edgar. Head north from Albrook upon your arrival in the mainland, meandering past Kefka's Tower until you've reached Tzen. Enter the town, at which point everyone's favorite clown-like antagonist fires a beam of light and obliterates the majority of its structures. Sabin will be here, holding up a house with his bare (bear) arms. Rush in, save the poor kid trapped inside, and the stronger Figaro brother is back.
Gau
Getting Gau is deceptively difficult. Locating the Veldt requires flying the Falcon over to the northeastern edge of the World of Ruin, but there's no mistaking its dryness once you're there. The trouble is, Gau runs away if you have a full party. You need to keep a slot open. Fight a few battles in this fas☂hion and the wild kid is happily aboard the airship.
Cyan
There's a village on the southwestern continent called Maranda. You've been here before, but that was when the planet made sense; now it's far from its original location. Find the small house with a woman inside and speak with her to learn her alleged boyfriend's been sending her letters from Mobliz.
Thing is, the carrier pigeon's clearly headed elsewhere — Zozo, to be exact. Go there, chat with a conspicuous merchant at the northern stretch of the city, and purchase the 'Rust Rid' item from them. Enter Zozo's pub, ascend the staircase, use the Rust Rid to open a door, and you'll be treated to a short dungeon with an emotionally turbulent Knight of Doma at its end.
Terra
Speaking of Mobliz, there is someone worth finding there, but it's no supposed boyfriend. It's Terra, and she's become something of an adoptive mother to the orphans here whose parents perished per Kefka's whims. Terra's not too keen on departing Mobliz. You'll be forced to battle a creature called Humbaba on your way out; defeat it, return to Mobliz (so long as you've got the Falcon; if not, wait until you do) and find Terra hiding inside the westernmost house.
With Terra by your side, you'll face off against Humbaba once more, after which the green-haired witch is yours to command.
Shadow
Shadow is, perhaps predictably, a tricky one. First, you'll never find him if he died on the Floating Continent. That's fair, really. Second, you should know where the Veldt is; check the Gau section of our guide for help. Fly there, but rather than getting off, hug the south shoreline until you come upon a cavern. Head inside, and you'll soon square off against the Behemoth King. Find the Ichigeki near the end of the cave; th𓆏e party leaves Shadow to rest in Kohlingen thereafter.
Now, fly to the Dragon's Neck Coliseum. Bet your newfound ninja sword here to summon Shadow. Best him in the arena, and he'll acquiesce to your request.
Relm
You'll likely find Relm in Jidoor. If she isn't there, check Shadow's cave, after which she'll head over to Jidoor. The point is, Jidoor. Enter Owzer's Manse, turn on the upstairs light, and make ready for some freaky fights culminating in a boss. Beat the boss and a Relm's reborn.
Strago
Strago won't join until after you have recruited Relm, at which point you should go see his bizarre activities at the Cultists' Tower, which runs alongside the Serpent Trench. Attempt to speak with him with Relm in your party, and he'll quickly snap out of it.
Locke
On the one hand, it's unfortunate that one of Final Fantasy 6's most high-profile protagonists takes this long to reacquire. (Well, you can head there before recruiting more members, but it's rough tides.) On the other hand, hey. Locke's full-fledged dungeon, Phoenix Cave, is a vast place filled with treasure. Its split-party pathways are a precursor to what you'll be seeing in Kefka's Tower, too.
To locate the Phoenix Cave, search the southernmost major continent and check the mountains at its northern 'head'. At the far end of the Ph💃oenix Cave, some gut-punching scenes unfold, after which Locke is back in action and a bunch of shiny trinkets come along for the ride.
The Special Squad: Mog, Umaro, And Gogo
These last three characters are optional in every sense of the word. You do play as Mog in the early moments of FF6 when Moogles aid Locke in rescuing Terra. But after that, you don't need to run into him ever again. As for Umaro and Gogo, they are 100 percent World of Ruin exclusives.
Mog
Whether or not you recruited Mog during the World of Balance — you really should have, you know! — you'll find him inside the old mining cave north of Narshe. Only, wait, where is Narshe? It sure isn't where it used to be. Narshe is now the sole scenic spot on an island continent to the far north.
Find Mog at the Moogles' Den, where he'll tell you he thought everyone was dead and went home. Honestly, fair. Stick around in Narshe for Umaro, as we go over below.
Umaro
Return to the location of the frozen Magicite that an enslaved Terra investigated alongside the ill-fated Biggs and Wedge at the very beginning of the game. This is the site of the battle against Kefka's forces during the climax of the first "arc" of the game, up in Narshe's snowfields.
You'll battle a powerful Esper here named Valigarmanda. Afterward, a gap will open up behind the fight area. Hop down, grab the Midgardsormr Magicite, and an enraged yeti (!) will attack. With Mog in your party, you'll be able to talk Umaro into joining you rather than pulverizing you.
Gogo
The mysterious mimic from Final Fantasy 5 returns in FF6, this time inside a giant monster's stomach, because why not? North of the Veldt, there's a rather suspiciously triangle-shaped island. Your strategy on Triangle Island is to battle until you come upon a massive beast called Zone Eater. Every turn, Zone Eater sucks oneꦡ of your party members down its throat.
Let all four of them get sucked in — how did people originally figure this out, anyway? — and the creature's insides are essentially a traversable dungeon. At the end, right before you make your grand escape from indigestion, Gogo awaits your patronage.
