Ever since June 2015 at Sony/PlayStation's conference at E3 when the long-awaited remake to Final Fantasy VII was finally announced, fans have felt like their prayers have been answered. After the 🅘almost 5-year-long wait until release, fans are finishing and experiencing everything they can within the game and wondering when the next part(s) will come. However, long-time fans of the franchise might also be wondering if there are remakes in the cards for other entries in the mainline series.

If there is one or more planned, they will likely have to wait after the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VII Remake series is done. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy VI are both games with strong reputation as classics of the franchise. The former is often regarded as the more divisive of the franchise's classics while the latter is regarded by die-hard fans as the franchise's best. Here are five reasons VIII should be remade next and five why it should be VI.

10 VIII: Continuing🥀 The T༒rend Of Remaking 3D PS1 Final Fantasy Classics

With the classic, and most popular, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy game just releasing its remake, and more to come, continuing the trend of remaking another 3D PlayStation classic could be a good way to ride the hype after the Remake series finishes. This list will go further into detail as to why remaking another 3D Final Fantasy over the 2D VI could be a good move, but seeing a game like VIII fully built from the ground up on current hardware and software wou💝ld still be a great sight to see and p𝐆lay.

IX was the last mainline entry on the original PlayStation, but with VIII being a more technologically primitive game, this game would be a great way to build on the hype of VII's remakes.

9 😼 VI: Bringing A 2D World To Modern 3D For The First Time 𒁃

On the other side of the argument in the previous entry, remaking Final Fantasy VI instead/first could be a better move. There are most likely people who believe that, at the very least, based on a purely technological and graphical standpoint, VI should be remade as it has never be𓂃en realized into 3D and has always been confined to 2D sprites.

Given the technology available to developers now, and with the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X on the horizon, a remake of this could gꦉive a fresh new perspective on the original.

8 VIII: The Divisive Combat System Could Benefit From A Real-Time Actio💦n Adaptation

Purists of the  franchise will likely say that the mainline games are at their best when they stick to their JRPG roots by being a turn-based RPG. Since the release of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy XVit has been obvious that Square Enix is changing their combat system in the main series to ideally keep grabbing new fans. One of the most divisive aspects of Final Fantasy VIII was the way it added layers to the combat with the "junction" ಌsystem.

On one hand, JRPG fanatics loved it since this deepens the gameplay. However, particularly for newcomers, this can come off as intensely complicated and could punish players hard if they had trouble grasping the concepts. This isn't to say to do away with the junction🌊 system, but rather adapt to real-time, action-based combat (more on that later).

7 VI: Easier-To-Adapt Comb🉐at Mechanics 🌃

Meanwhile, VI does not have the same divisive issues in the gameplay mechanics that are crucial to natural progression. You still have your classic, traditional combat tactics like standard attacks, magic, items, the ATB system introduced/popularized in Final Fantasy IV, etc.

In addition, there were still other mechanics to spice up that traditional combat system like abilities unique to individual characters and the "desperation attack" element, which allowed you to unleash powerful attacks at times whenඣ your health is low enough. These elements/mechanics are simple, yet engaging, enough to transition into real-time, action-based combat.

6 VIII: M🐭odernization Of The Combat Mechanics

To circle back to the last point in favor of VIII, the combat system could likely be modernized in some way. The best example of this being done is in the just-released Final Fantasy VII Remake. The combat mechanic gimmick in VII world is the materia system.

Despite leaving behind turn-based action, the materia system was intact and streamlined in Remake by incorporating s꧑lowing time to access the ability to use them, among other functions. Mater﷽ia is more simple than junction, but if anyone can streamline/simplify the latter to make it more fun and engaging for newcomers--but still with enough depth--it's Square.

5 VI: More Potentia♌l To Come To Nintendo Also ♕

While this one is certainly a long-shot, perhaps a potential, full-blown, top-to-bottom 3D remake of VI could make its way to Nintendo's console. When Square eventually shifted the production of VII to Sony/PlayStation, it c൲aused a rift in ꦗSquare's relationship with Nintendo.

However, that's long since been resolved, and VI was originally released on the Super Nintendo (marketed as III in North America) before th♎is "feᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚud." Because of this, maybe a complete remake of the sprite-based game could be optimized for a Nintendo console, whether it is for the Switch or whatever's next.

4 𝔉 VIII: Remasters Are A Tease 🐎

Last year we got Final Fantasy VIII - Remastered for all modern☂ systems. Remasters are great as they're a way to give treasured, old games a graphical face-lift--while not having to build from the ground up--and give old fans a chance to𝓰 play it again touched up, new fans to jump on board, and/or make the game more modernly accessible.

But they don't bring the same level of excitement as a game being fully remade on modern tech with revamped/overhauled gameplay features/mechanics. VIII's remaster looks impressive, but it's a tease of what it could really be.

3 ꦉ VI: The Fa✨n-Favorite

Asking long-time Final Fantasy fans what the best mainline game in the franchise is is highly divisive. Chances are you get will various answers and for different reasons. Both of these games have high reputations and received critical acclaim, yet there's🌄 still a significant difference in how they're perceived among fans.

Especially so at launch, VIII was looked at as the franchise's "black sheep." Meanwhile, VI is more commonly referred to as the series' pinnacle. For that reason alone, chances are Square would get a bigger reaction from remaking VI.

2 ꦇ VIII: A Wonderfully Ludicౠrous Story Fully Realized

Even if VIII is more often looked at as the most divisive of the franchise's classics, the fact that it still is referred to as a classic is a big point in its favor. Part of that is surely due to its story. A series of games called Final Fantasy will likely have some pretty outlandish stories, but that's not at all a bad thing. The story of VIII was ludicrous, and wonderfully so.

It involves time travel, fighting against sorceresses, finding out there's actually an evil sorceress who can possess any sorceress, and the big bad trying to become the ultimate being♊ through something called "time compression." While too outlandish for some, it was loved by plenty, and that's why remaking it fully realized visually and with voice𝔍 acting would be a treat.

1 🅘 VI: 14 Playable Characters In A Remake Coꦓuld Be Excellent

There are definitely some sizable risks with this proposition. If mishandled, this could be a disorganized, chaotic mess. However, the potential could pay off well. Remake already features a great, simple way t🍸o ✤smoothly alternate between party members.

Having 14 characters--the most amount of characters in the main series--with their own unique attributes and allowing the player to alternate and experiment b💛etween multiple parties could add great depth tꩵo a potential remake. Depending on whether you're doing the main quest or side quests, the experimentation allowed could vary as needed.
