Aerith’s main form of attack is through casting spells, but she can pack a punch with her standard attacks if built properly. Equipping the Reinforced Staff gives Aerith the highest Attack rating among her weapons, while also still providing one connecting Materia slot and four separate Materia slots.
You can find the staff in a chest near the beginning of Chapter 17. The staff’s ability, ATB Ward, conju💃res a wide circular area around Aerith that allows allies who use abilities inside of it to regain a portion of their ATB gauge.
Armor
Equipping the Supreme Bracer might not affect🧔 Aerith&rsq𓆉uo;s Attack rating, but it does significantly increase her Defense and Magic Defense.
The Supreme Bracer gives Aerith one connecting Materia slot and one separate Materia slot. This armor piece is won by completing the Barret vs. SOLDIER Trainees Shinra simulator in Chapter 16.
Accessory
The Supernatural Wristguards will bump up Aerith’s main Attack rating and her Strength. Aerith has the lowest Attack rating compared to the other characters, but her long-range attacks can dwindle an enemy’s health from afar. You can purchase the Supernatural Wristguards in Chapter Nine in the Wall Market Weapon Shop.
Materia
This attack build allows Aerith to equip nine Materia, along with her Summon Materia. You’ll have two connecting Materia slots and five separate Materia slots. First, we recommend filling four of the slots with two HP Ups and MP Ups to b👍oost Aerith’s health and magic points.
You can pair the Elemental Materia with your choice of Ice, Fire, or Lightning in one of the connecting slots. The remaining slots should be filled with Healing, Time, and Assess🅺, and then you can choose between Ifrit or F🍨at Chocobo to further increase Aerith’s Attack and Strength.

With the Guard Stick, Aerith uses the Arcane Ward ability that allows attack spells to be cast twice within the ward.
Armor
There are a few suitable armor options for a tank build for Aerith. Equipping the Chain Bangle will drastically increase Aerith’s Magic Defense and provide a relatively decent Physical Defense. The Chain Bangle has two connecting Materia slots and two separate slots.
You can stick with the Supreme Bracer for a little more balanced defense with a slight emphasis on Physical Defense or you can go heavy with Magic Defense by equipping the Astral Cuff. This armor piece provides ex𝓀tremely high Magic Defense but low Physical Def൩ense.
The other downside of the Astral Cuff is a lack of any Materia slots. Both the Chain Bangle and Astral Cuff can be found in a chest in Chapter 17.
Accessory
To complete the tank build, equip the Talisman in the accessory slot. This item will increase Aerith’s Magic Defense and Spirit and is available for purchase in various shops as early as Chapter 3.
Materia
Deciding which Materia to pair with Aerith’s tank build all depends on which armor piece you&𝔍rsquo;ve equipped. If you went with the Astral Cuff, you’ll be limited to only five Materia slots. In this scenario, we’d recommend equipping Healing, Time, HP Up, Barrier, and your choice of Ice, Fire, or Lightning.
By equipping Chain Bangle or Supreme Bracer, you’ll have eight or nine slots, respectively. With these of these equipped, you should have Healing, Time, two HP Ups, MP Up, Barrier, one of Ice, Fire, or Lightning, and finally, Deadly Dodge. Deadly Dodge will automatically cause damage near the area after you finish dodging. For her🦩 summon, wಌe recommend Ifrit to further increase her defenses.
