It plays when the party first visits Wonder Square, and it helps to convey the air of fun and games that abounds in the location. However, "Cait Sith's Theme" also plays before Cait Sith sacrifices himself, the time when he questions his identity and asks others to consider whether he is just a robot or whether he has his own unique identity, a typically casual detail that helps make Final Fantasy VII a rich game.

The theme is also, unfortunately, very childlike, and it frames Yuffie as a childlike character. It also explains, in part, why she is considered to be an annoying character by many players of the game.
7 Jenova
In the game, the "Jenova" theme (sometimes stylized "J-E-N-O-V-A") is a high-intensity sci-fi track. It strongly ramps up the tension for the moment of combat, while imbuing the scene with a falling sensation. In addition to its high-energy tension, it has a creepy overtone that helps to make the battle more frightening. The counterpoint between the different elements of the song help to make this boss battle very dramatic. This is one of the most appreciated songs from the soundtrack, and🐼 one of the most memorable.
6 Red XIII
"Red XIII's Theme" has a very haunting quality. It puts you in mind of potentially sinister nature of the great cat that Red XIII seems to be. But Re🍸d XIII's story is not primarily that of a hunter, it's of one betrayed. This theme has considerably less complexity than many of the other themes in the game, with its simple, repetitious sounds that go through a basic chord progression. That's likely part of the reason why it's one that's often cut, as, for example, from the vinyl version of the soundtrack𝔉.

"Barret's Theme" has a deep and rolling sound to i🐻t, thanks to the solid bass line that introduces it. It conveys power and presence, similar to the intimidating stature of the man himself. This song also conveys Barret's passion for the cause and for attempting to preserve the world.
This theme also helps to evoke the sense of adventure that will pull players thr👍ough the game. The contrast between the song's off-kilter cadence and its trilling melody help to construct the imbalance that helps make the game compelling.
4 Sephiroth
In the game, Sephiroth is represented most powerfully by "One-Winged Angel," which is as close to a prog-rock masterpiece as you can get in such a synth-dominated soundtrack. It also pushed the limits of the system's sound capabilities at the time. The composition borrows from multiple classical sources. One is Stravinsky's riotous "The Rite of Spring." In particular, the romantic cast of the music limits Tifa's role to that of love interest when she has so many more aspects to her character, including a fighter, team player, visionary, and rebel. Nor is the music particularly inspired, being one of the more forgettable pieces in the soundtrack.

"Aerith's Theme" is designed to be a sad song. It is supposed to make you see . The song gains poignancy and dimension because it plays in a number of different contexts, including not just flashbacks, but also b♏attles, and even as short snippets in cut scenes. The song has been arranged for orchestra and piano. Based on its popularity, the song was even selected by fans to be adapted with lyrics and performed by Japanese folk singer Rikki.

As the protagonist of Final Fantasy VII, the lovable Cloud is a little hard to characterize. In the game he's represented by the "Main Theme," which many people think of as hisไ music. It's pensive and thoughtful, which is part of his character. The theme is composed around a major 7th interval, which also appears in several other of the themes as well, tied into this main theme. Like "Barret's Theme," the "Main Theme" uses some unusual cadences to create interest, making it a highly memorable piece. It's also memorable because it plays so often, including much of the travel throughout the game.
