When a remake for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VII was first teased no one had any idea that it wasn’t going to be a full remake. Heck, maybe even Square Enix didn’t even know that it would go beyond one game. Suffice it to say the team thought that they had more story to tell in Midgar which is why the first part of the remake is going to take place in just that one city. This is crazy considering it was only abꦺout four hours long in the original, which of course differs depending on how much grinding one did.
The point is in a fifty plus hour RPG it was small potatoes comparatively. This may make one wonder why did 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Square Enix go through the t🤡rouble of remaking Midgar as its own thing? Well, turns out a lot can be gleaned from unused sketches from the original’s planning phases. What else didn’t get used and will these ten sketches be implemented back in in some way?
10 A Less Intimidating Cloud
There are a couple of key differences between one of the earlier designs of Cloud and the final one. The hair and sword are the tꦗwo biggest changes. His spikes are less pronounced and it actually looks like part of his hair is slicked back. While big enough to have to be held on his back, this prototype sword is nowhere near as intimating as the real Buster Sword. Everything else looks pretty spot on.
9 Samurai Sephiroth
Compared to Cloud, Sephi𝔍roth looks dramatically different. The flowing hair is the same, but his looks are more feminine overall from his eyelashes to his lips which look like they hav😼e black lipstick applied.
His sword has changed too. 🔯Instead of carrying it open-faced, it is sheathed and looks a bit smaller as well. His belt and shirt also look closer to what Zack and Cloud wore, tying him more into the SOLDIER program.
8 Doubled-Gunned Barret
Barret, although squat, looks pretty close to his final version. The only kꦚey difference in this sketch is his extra assault rifle. This could imply that at one time, Barret could have wielded two guns. What that means for battle is anyone’s guess. It could have also just been a fun sketch to show that he means bus🉐iness.
7 Grim Reaper Vincent
Every character in the game has a unique weapon. Cloud has a sword, Aeris uses a rod, Tifa uses her fists, Barret has his gun arm, Cid has his spea🦩r, Cait Sith has a megaphone, and Yuffie used a giant throwing star. The point is everyone is unique except for Vincent who also uses a gun like Barret. This sketch implies that at one time he would have also been unique with a scythe. Maybe that’s where Barret’s other gun went. Upon closer inspection it also looks like Vincent is wearing a monocle.
6 Early Shinra Soldiers
Typical Shinra soldiers are depicted as wearing helmets with three eyes. This sketch, on the hand, shows their helmets with grated coverings. Their overall design looks more like a Japanese ninja. It actually resembles what the Hidden Leaf ninjas wear in Naruto, sort of. Would this have been the main unit, or a special 🍰task force? The safe bet would be to think on the latter option.
5 Marlene’s Friends
Marlene isn’t much of a character in the game. She appears in the 7th Heaven, later when she gets brought to safety at Aeris’ house, and then 𝓀is strang🐼ely never seen again until the literal last scene of the game.
At one time she may have had a bigger role, or at least had more presences. That is to say she was going to have friends as seen in this sketch whic🐎h couple imply a lot of things. Maybe there might have even been a side quest involving these kids.
4 Onyx Dragon
Speaking of side quests, what was going to be the role of the Onyx Dragon? It’s hard to tell what his size was? Was it WEAPON sized, or more like the size of a green dragon? Was he special, or just a random enemy? There are too many questions and not enough answers. Its draft isn’t even finished besides the torso and head. That said what is drawn does look ඣcool.
3 A Bigger Kalm
Many g🦄amers who originally played Final Fantasy VII when it came out were probably surprised there was more to the game outside of Midgar. It seemed so big at the time, but it really only amounts to about four hours in an otherwise forty plus hour RPG.
Going from Midgar to Kalm was a downgrade in terms of the size, but this sketch may indicate that Kalm was going to be bigger. Just look at the roads🍎. It looks like a quaint Midwe💜stern town. Part one of Final Fantasy VII Remake is all about Midgar. Part two then could open on perhaps a more robust version of Kalm.
2 Old Midgar
Speaking of Midgar, it too was going to look different. The original idea for the game was to set it in New York City and star a detective, Joe. Based on the design it’s easy to see the inspiration of New York City in the architecture. While the period piece was dropped and Midgar took on its o🧜wn form, a present day New York City was explored in Parasite Eve although that present was 1998. It just goes to show that good ideas never go away.
1 Midgar’s Monsters
The title of this sketch is of Midgar’s town square, which might be the city section Cloud runs through after he escapes from the first reactor. The design looks like it a little. Anyway wherever it is in relation to Midgar does not matter. What does is the twin-headed dragon coming out of the darkness. This could imply that even back then Midgar was goinꦫg to be more prevalent in the story. This could also be a holdover of the idea 𒀰of it taking place solely in New York City although this sketch also gives it kind of a London vibe.
