If there's one thing the Final Fantasy games have, it's striking characters. Over the decades, the many character designers for the series have become iconic in their own rights for giving so much personality to these characters just in how they look.
A great benefit for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 7, though, is that these characters are actually ♓well-written, too (for the most part). FF7 Remake showed that Square Enix truly understands the ജheart of these characters, and it would be great to see even more of them–both from the original game and some smaller ones from the Remake–return in Rebirth.
10 Johnny
Final Fantasy 7 has a whole bunch of characters, probably a lot more than you actually remember. Let's take Johnny. Ringing any bells? He's the annoying dude who you keep finding across the world of Gaia, who's just obsessed with Cloud and Tifa, kinda like the fanbase.
Now why would you possibly want more Johnny? Well, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:despite being just comic relief, he feels exceedingly normal. In a world filled with planet-ending stakes on a daily basis, it's endearing to see this regular guy just trying to impress his childhood crush.
9 𝕴 Don Corneo 💟
'Slimy' is a great descriptor for people who just aren't pleasant to be around. It's not even an inherent evil; there's plenty of that in Shinra. Instead, it's more people who are just bad, but not egregiously so. There's plenty of that in Midgar's Slums, and Don Corneo is the slimiest of them all.
In the original, you do actually encounter him again in Wutai, at which point the Turks give him 🎉a rather swift fall from a very tall mountain. In Remake, ♔he makes the promise to return after his escape. So what better way for him to return in Rebirth than to meet the same deserved faith from the original FF7?
8 Marlene
Barret is a fun character in ways that don't appear at first glance, though that's by intent. He's imposing and gruff, giving off a tough guy persona in front of everyone: everyone but his beloved daughter, Marlene. Then you see him for the soft, sincere man he really is.
Marlene has a much-expanded role in the remake, letting us see a wider degr🎶ee of Barret than in the original. The thing is, she has very little appearance beyond M𒉰idgar, and it would be great for Rebirth to expand her role in a way that develops both her and Barret.
7 Cait Sith
This damn cat. The first thing to know about Cait Sith is that their name is not pronounced how you think it is. The second is that they're annoying as hell. Why does Reeves, a member of Shinra's board, have an alter ego as a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Celtic folk figure? And why does said alter ego ride a moogle?
Cait Sith does very briefly appear in FF7 Remake, so it's safe to assume they'll be present in Rebirth. Maybe this will be a chance to actually make them not absurd and expand Reeve's while they're at it. Hopefully they'll be friends with Red XIII.
6 Jenova
If you're asked who's the antagonist of Final Fantasy 7, the reasonable response would be Sephiroth. Maybe Shinra, on a wider scale. Then there's Jenova, who is kind of to blame for everything but is also just a manipulated creature by Shinra too. But she also wiped out the Cetra. Give and take.
The thing is, we've not actually seen Jenova herself in FF7. Yes, we've seen her preserved body and her ghastly amalgamations, but not her as a living being. She's a parasite, but everything is all heard from others. How would Jenova act if she was traveling around this world herself? A shivering thought, and hopefully one you get to explore.
5 G🌸ast Faremis
A name that slips to the wayside in most of the compilation of Final Fant🌄asy 7, Gast Faremis is mentioned only briefly in the original FF7 in an optꦜional area of the Icicle Inn. This section however offers a massive backstory to Jenova, Shinra, and the Cetra as a whole.
You see, Gast is Aerith's biological father. He found Ifalna as 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the last remaining Cetra and interviewed her, e🥃ventually eloping from Shinra with her. Though supposedly dead, his fate was never confirmed. Rebirth gives the perfect chance to bring him back and even let Aerith learn more of herself.
4 Cid
If you've played literally any Final Fantasy game, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:you've probably heard of Cid. Stepping aside from the literal mascots, Cid is one of the most prevalent recurring characters. He's usually an inventor of some kind, aiming for the skies.
Of course, he does not appear in the FF7 Remake, though he does in the original game, and as a party member, no less. With Rebirth's story seemingly putting a greater emphasis on the stars, Cid's pursuit of the cosmos fits the narrative perfectly. Let's just hope he gets all that extreme sexism ironed out of his character.
3 Genesis
T🌳here is a certain way your brain got rewired if you were playing Fina✤l Fantasy 7 around the time Dirge of Cerberus came out. That game is remarkable for how terrible it is, the pinnacle of mid-2000 edgy pop culture, but it was a cultural moment for introducing Genesis, played by singer GACKT.
So beloved was he that he became a full character in Crisis Core, designed off and voiced by GACKT in Japanese. He's just...GACKT. There's no escaping that a major FF7 character is literally a real-life singer. So anyway, GACKT- uh, Genesis should return and defeat Jenova as was hinted at in Dirge of Cerberus. So says his favourite work, LOVELESS, probably.
2 🧔 Lucrecia Crescent 𓂃
A fun fact you'll learn about Final Fantasy 7 as you play through it is that no one really knows their real parents. Sephiroth is actually a human infused with Jenova, not her literal child. Aerith's parents are dead, and one of them was from Shinra. Marlene was actually adopted following the death of her parents. It's a cruel world.
Well Lucrecia Crescent, Vincent's love interest, is the actual mother of Sephiroth. And Hojo is his father, if you weren't confused and disgusted enough yet. With Sephiroth having a greater understanding of how all the universes flow, his seeking out Lucrecia would make a bunch of sense.
1 Vincent Valen💛tine ⛦
When yo💮u get beyond the main party of characters in FF7, you get some odd folk. Yuffie, thankfully already improved on in the Remake, is just a weird teenager, Cid is a raging sexist, and Vincent Valentine is a vampire that every fan madly thirsts after.
Frankly, it's hard to say what to do with Vincent anymore. Dirge of Cerberus expands on him, giving him the power of Chaos and the ability to protect the planet from the ultimate Weapon, Omega. He can probably also defeat Genesis. It doesn't really matter. Vincent is weird and doesn't really fit the vibe of FF7, but he's really funny and edgy and should come back purely because we need another Final Fantasy shooter.
