There is an exchange between Cloud and Sephiroth in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth that had me gawping at the screen like a perverted little goblin. During the Mt. Nibel flashback, the perky soldiers face off against the Materia Demon in a fierce boss battle. Cloud is a precocious lad who wants nothing more ⭕than to prove himself in front of his luscious, silver-haired idol. That means bigging him every chance he gets even if it means putting them in danger or jumping into fights he isn’t quite ready for. It’s cute, cringe, and a perfect recreation of their dynamiജc.

Cloud’s personality is somewhat harder to read within Nibelheim in the original. During his time with Avalanche he is often cold, withdrawn, and uncaring about the people and events around him, but this slowly fades away as he comes to realise 💛his feelings for Aerith along with what exactly he is fighting for. Nibelheim takes place in a time before he is changed by trauma and having so many things taken away from him. Here there is only optimism and the opportunity to chase his dreams. So, of course, he is excited to be on such a mission.

This isn’t a piece about Cloud’s turbulent emotional journey however, it’s all about how the universe he re🧔sides in is perpetually horny in all the best ways.I won’t bother adding any more context - the dialogue below takes place during a battle when Cloud and Sephiroth are really giving it their all:

Sephiroth: You’re practically panting...

Cloud: I’m excited!

Sephiroth: Tch. Such a puppy.

Come on now! How else is a fruity gal like me supposed to read an exchange like this when I know both how hard the fandom ships these two characters and how much Remake leaned into its own expressive femininity and queer-coded world and party members. 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Square Enix created the e🔯quivalent of bisexual kryptonite with its beautiful mixture of men, women, and everything else besides. It was glorious, and to the surprise of nobody it spawned a fervent subculture of fanfics, fanart, and headcanons that will only grow fonder with the release of Rebirth. Better yet, now its creators are actively leaning into our debauchery. Enabling us with the tools to view this exchange in a certain way without consequence. I won’t say no, but goodness me it has no right to go this hard this early. What could the full game offer?

I reckon it will go even further. I mean why wouldn’t it? Remake’s Honey Bee Inn presented a twist on the original none of us expected, turning a vaguely homophobic part of the classic which wasn’t even available in localised versions of the game and making it into a confident, exuberant dance number that celebrated queerness and fashion while doing so much to deconstruct masculinity. Cloud’s crossdressing to infiltrate Don Corneo’s palace is framed in a similar way, with Aerith and Tifa complimenting how beautiful he looks instead of 💖crossdressing being viewed as an oddity or fetish to be gawked at. It was accepted, and it encouraged fans new and old to celebrate this exuberance alongside its characters.

With its open world and events of the past game a part of its overall identity, Rebirth should have more opportunities to tell diverse stories with new and existing characters. Time will tell if it gets explicit with its queerness instead of vague allusions to such things, but I have hope after Final Fantasy 16 broke new ground and Remake was unafraid to strut its stuff without fear. Saucy interactions between Cloud and Sephiroth asidꦛe, I’m chuffed that Remake and Rebirth manage to represent the person I am so effectively, and can&rsꦏquo;t wait to see how much further it goes in creating a queer, inclusive world that embraces melodrama and intimacy in equal measure. Now, please let us date all of our party members in the Golden Saucer.
