Square Enix's long-awaited remake of the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:1997 video game classic 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VII Remake has now been out for enough time for fans to play to completion. The game has been positively received, with praise aimed at the real-time comb𒆙at, voice acting, and the story (both the realization of the original game's Midgar section and expanded coꦦntent).
However, speaking specifically to the story, despite being positively received, certain aspects, namely the ending, have drawn mixed reactions. Some cited concern over where things will go from here, as all bets are off and nothing is guaranteed. Square could pull off something fresh and succeed, or soil and disrespect 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:what came before.
10 ✃ 💛Aerith's Death(?)
Without a doubt, the biggest moment of the original Final Fantasy VII was the death of Aerith by Sephiroth. This scene headlined countless 'saddest moments in gaming history' videos, articles, etc. It 🐼was bold, emotionally devastating, and impactful for each of the main cast. But the future is uncertain here as the rebel group managed to 🔴defeat the Arbiters of Fate.
The party starts to receive premonitions of what Red XIII calls visions of the future if they fail here. Cloud receives𓄧 one that fans will recognize of him carrying Aerith's lifeless body. In future games, she could survive it all, reversing the major event of the original, or maybe give us a fake-out and have her die still, but at another place and time.
9 Z🔴ack's Fate
Similar to Aerith's original fate, the fate of Cloud's friend and Aerith's first love, Zack Fair, seems to have been reversed. Or, at least, for now. By the start of Final Fantasy VII, Zack has been dead for some time. In we see, after defeating the Whispers, scen🐠es of Zack's "final stand" against Shinra soldiers protecting Cloud, but he survives it all.
A possibility is that these scenes with Zack are part of another alternate timeline or that this now is part of the Remake one. Considering how important those final scenes were, Zack could come up in ways bigger than anyone 🐼previously expected. Having him survive the whole series, like potentially with Aerith, could feel like a cheap attempt at fan service that ruins the impact of the original game, or it could somehow enrich the emotional weight behind the relationships between Cloud, Zack, and Aerith depending on how it's written.
8 🌠 🍸 Aerith's Potential True Knowledge Of Events
Aerith seems to know far more than she leads the rest of the cast to believe throughout the story. From the moment that Cloud meets Aerith, she seems to have some level of knoꦬwledge most others don't. She seems to know what those "things" are that Cloud shooed off unintentionally. She also ♎seems to know who Marlene is without anyone telling her about her existence prior, leaving other characters confused.
Aerith visits Cloud in a dream and tells hi▨m ho♏w glad and thankful she is for meeting and spending time with him. Her telling him that he can't fall in love with her adds to the game's emotion, but whatever his feelings are, they wouldn't be real.
7 Biggs', Wedge's, And Jessie's🌳 Survival (?)
This is another big change﷽ from the events of the original game that could have a significant impact in the future. On the other hand, since Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge are essentially side characters, perhaps this won't have as big of a ripple in the future events of the series as some might think.
This trio dies in Final Fantasy VII when the plate falls, but in Remake, Wedge and Biggs make it out while it's suggested that Jessie could have s🌺urvived with a shot of her glove. The expanded characters (namely Jessie) have been ඣdone well, but will they be focused on more or less in the future installments, and how will they be treated?
6 ꦍ Sephiroth's Knowledge Of Ev꧅ents
Along with Aerith, Sephiroth also heavily implies he knows far more than most of the cast of protagonists. In Final Fantasy VII Remake, unlike the original, Sephꦉiroth is made apparent much earlier on. Since his first appearance tormenting Cloud, he continually suggests through cryptic d꧋ialogue that he's more than aware of what is going on and even what can happen in the future.
In the divisive ending, Sephiroth tells Cloud that what lie💝s ahead doesn't exist yet, further talking about the plot's uncertain future, on both the pr🥀otagonists' and players' part.
5 𓄧 No One Is Safe
As discussed, characters' fates like Zack and Aerith areᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ now unclear in terms of whether they will make it out alive by the end of this series or not. All bets are off, as anyone can survive or get killed off at this point.
Aerith and Zack could both make it through the end at the expense of other characters from the main cast. This could prove problematic by writing out other beloved characters for sheer shock value if not handled well, or create well-written twists that will fit🧔 this potentially new narrative.
4 Future Relevan𝔉cy Of The Whispers
The biggest new twist to the plot of this particular world is the inclusion of the mysterious Whispers. For the vast majority of the game✅, we don't get a description of them. Finally, we find out they're the Arbiters of Fate that ensure the plot plays out like the original game's.
However, at the conclusion of chapter 18, Cloud and company defeat the Whispers (fate itself). With that, will the Whispers be relevant at all going forward? Fans will likely wonder if their influence will matter going forward or if🍸 they were a one-off plot device to set up future games.
3 🌟 🦩 Sephiroth's Endgame
Having🐓 talked about how Sephiroth clearly knows more than the rest of the cast, whether it's more or less than Aerith, his true plans come into question as well. In the original game, Sephiroth's u💧ltimate plan was to hit the planet with Meteor, become a god, and sail the galaxy destroying planets as Jenova wanted.
However, assuming Sephiroth knows of the events of the original plot, he knows things don't work out for him. This leads usඣ to believe that he may have made some drastic changes to his endgame goals. Given Cloud and company don't really "beat" him, this ๊seems inevitable.
2 Time Travel Andꦐ Alternate Timelines 🌌
Time travel and alternate 🅺timelines are things that are commonplace in places like sci-fi and comic books. But they are difficult to pull off in a satisfying way and can cheapen the plot and 🅘its impact. This is essentially a culmination of the more specific plot elements mentioned here. It could prove an enticing and creative alternate take, or it could derail the plot.
168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Kingdom Hearts is another Square Enix franchise that loved to play with these concepts, leaning into them harder as spin-offs came out before III. That series is known for being unnecessarily complicated (plot-wise), and while the original FFVII was a lot to take in, fa🔯ns are concerned for the plot given Nomura directed ꦐboth of these games.
1 Changing Character Traits 𒊎
In direct reference to something that Aerith says before the climax of chapter 18, future games could go different routes in terms of portrayals of characters. One of the many strengths of Final Fantasy VII Remake is how they stayed trueꦿ to the original spꦛirit of the characters.
However, this could change going forward. Aerith tells Cloud before stepping into the portal that, if they win, they themselves will change. There wasn't further explanat📖ion, but this could be relevant in the💫 future with character traits potentially approached differently and to varying extents.
