sends our heroes to Gongaga in Chapter 9. On the way there, you might bump into an eccentric blacksmith named Izo who﷽ takes a keen interest in Barret's gun-arm. Before you know it, you'll be conscripted for another side quest, this time starring Barret.

Final Fan👍tasy ꦰ7 Rebirth: Every Manuscript And Where To Find It
Make sure your party has a﷽ccess to every ounce of SP they can𓆉 get with our Manuscript location guide.
Here's whꦺere you'll find Izo, what you'll do for the guy, how you'll do it, and what you'll get as a reward. It's possible to complete this quest, 'The Pursuit of Perfection', at any point until FF7 Rebirth's point of no return, but we'll tell you how to fire up Izo's forge as early as possible.
How To Begin 'The Pursuit Of Perfection'
'The Pursuit of Perfection' pops up on Gongaga's Community Board following the chapter's pivotal plot events at the Gongaga Reactor. But if you want to knock it out ahead of schedule, the client, Izo, can be contacted before you ever step foot in Gongaga.
Izo's Shack is located northeast of Gongaga, and the party enters Gongaga's region map from the north. With that in mind, you'll find Izo's Shack before Gongaga if you head southeast from your starting position near the river.
Head into Izo's shack, whether you found him preemptively or read his request on the Community Board, and a cutscene will play out with Barret when you speak with the fellow.
Izo needs the team to locate draconite deposits, but first, we'll need his map. Get the map from the tool shack to the south of Izo's Shack, and be sure t🔯o grab a variety of resources while you're at it.
Where To Find The Draconite Deposits
You can sleuth it all out yourself with Izo's directions, which will lead you to the draconite deposit by showing you a series of angled depictions of nearby landmarks. Alternatively, you can follow our directions.
- Return to Izo's Shack, which we'll use as our starting point rather than the building where we grabbed his map.
- Take the trail that leads southwest from Izo's Shack to reach the next point of reference.
- You'll soon come upon a large rock structure with a huge hollowed-out center.
- Turn right just past the structure in order to remain on the trail.
- Continue following the trail until you come upon a tall statue with a lantern inside its base.
- Here, the trail splits between left and right paths. Head left rather than right.
- Keep to the trail until you spot a truly massive tree to your right. It has quite a few large branches, but more strikingly, dozens of thin, perfectly vertical, branches extending to the ground.
Gathering The Deposits And Getting The Reward
You'll need to dispatch four Daggerwing enemies before the ore is firmly yours for the taking. If you're at the quest's recommended level of 31, they oughtn't be much more difficult than any of the other local fauna, like the Chimera Mantis.
Two of the ore deposits will be found at ground level. Look closely, however, and you'll find a rope leading up to a ledge with the remaining two deposits.
All that's left to do is to return to Izo. After a thoughtful scene, the quest concludes. The followiꦓng rewards are yours:
- Fafnir Rifle, a weapon for Barret which contains the Point Blank ability. It's a close-range attack that expends all ATB charges to deal proportionate damage.
- EXP, Party EXP, and - most importantly of all, if you're aiming for a date with Barret at the Gold Saucer later - an affinity boost with Barret.
