For the purposes of this 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy list, we did not include any expansions, collections, or re-releases. That said, we do want to give a quick shout out to Final Fantasy VI Advance, the best version of that game, and the Shadowbringers expansion for Final Fantasy XIV. Also, Final Fantasy Chronicles contains Final Fantasy IV and Chrono Trigger so that’s why adding in collection🥃s would be weird.

And for some reason, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children is ranked under games even though it is a movie on UMD. It is such a weird PSP entry. Anyway, here is what reviewers have agreed on, over time, to be the best entries in th🐎e franchise.

10 Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (83)

FF Crisis Core Zack with Buster Sword

Crisis Core is the best spinoff in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VII compilation series. It’s an unsung RPG on the PSP that would be amazing to see implemented in some form in one of the sequels for the Final Fantasy VII remake.

It is a prequel which, yes as most prequels do, muddies the waters by adding characters that make sense on why they aren't mentioned in the original. That said, Zack is an incredibly likable 𒅌protagonist and getting to know his backstory was worth it all.

9 Final Fantasy X-2 (85)

When Final Fantasy X-2 was announced, it felt like an elaborate April Fools' joke. Yuna has guns now? What is she, Lara Croft? Well, it turns out the joke was real and despite the girly tone of the game, there is a deep, hardcore RPG that makes the origina✤l look like a gജame by comparison.

The job system, using Dress Spheres, is especially elaborate and addicti🔯🗹ve to tinker around with. On the downside it ruined Blitzball.

8 Final Fantasy XI (85)

The fact that the eleventh main entry in Final Fantasy was an MMO was shocking. Should it have just been called Final Fantasy Online instead? Yes, that would have made more sense.

Names games aside, it was a decent take on MMOs while keeping true to its roots. By today’s standards, it is pretty archaic in that it ꧂doesn’t respect a player’s time, but that note aside, it was also deeply rewarding for those invested.

7 Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn (86)

Speaking of MMOs, Final Fantasy XIV Online: A Realm Reborn comes in close with an 86. Its initial launch was disastrous beyond belief, but this reboot serves as a much better spectacle for both that original version and its predecessor, Final Fantasy XI.

Things were streamlined to make everything easier for both PC and console players. A🦄nd as we mentioned in the intro, the ex♎pansions just keep making this game better and better.

6 Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (87)

Technically the original game ranks above this. Not only in our 🃏opinion, but on Metacritic as well, but it is for the PSP re-release. Can one believe that the original PS1 version is ranked at an 83? That is crazy.

While this sequel lacks the grim and mature story of the original, a⭕nd the Judges were annoying to deal with, the core gameplay holds up as another addicting tread through tactical battlefields filled with tons of jobs to master.

5 Final Fantasy VIII (90)

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VIII is kind of the black sheep of the family right alongside Final Fantasy II. The story gets really bizarre at the end, full of plot holes that would make the Grand Canyon blush. Squall is also a hard protagonist to follow. Plus the magic system is🔯 pretty garbage.

It tried to do something different, rubbed some the wrong way, and while we wouldn’t putไ it in our top ten, it isn’t a bad game either. Far from it. It’s unique, but still, Final Fantasy a✤nd any one of these games are going to be satisfying in some regard.

4 Final Fantasy VII (92)

No matter what this list indicates by the numbers, Final Fantasy VII is the most popular by far, or at the very lea🌳st the most renowned. It turned man🐻y gamers into RPG fans thanks to the slick marketing, showing CG cutscenes to promote this game like no other.

It was a push forward in gaming and thဣe more mature story didn’t hurt either. It is exactly why movies, books, and spinoffs were made due to fan outcry. And lest we forget the impending remake. The polygons aꦐre chunky now, but it remains a classic.

3 Final Fantasy XII (92)

Tied up right alongside that, we have Final Fantasy XII. It borrows a lot from Final Fantasy XI in terms of its auto-battle combat and rich, open environments filled with monsters. It also has a lot in common with the Final Fantasy Tactics universe of Ivalice.

It took a long time to come out due to directorial changes and like its predecessor it♌ was very different for the brand. That’s what makes tಞhis series so great though: the constant sense of renovation.

2 Final Fantasy X (92)

Final Fantasy X is also tied at 92. This was as big a leap forward to the franchise as was Final Fantasy VII. It took the series into full 3D complete wဣith voice acting for the first time.

The graphics were also amazing and in some cases, it was hard to tell what was in-game and what was CG. Plus let’s not forget about the best mini-game of all time: Blitzball. Where is that spinoff, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Square Enix?

1 Final Fantasy IX (94)

And at number one we have a fitting tribute to the franchise. Final Fantasy VI through Final Fantasy VIII were all leaning towards the tech-he🌳avy side of RPGs, getting away from the more classic idea the series.

This retread back into that territory then was one last hurrah for the PS1 generation, and what a send-off it was. The two MMOs are close in tone, but we would like to see this done again in a single-player experience. We are crossing our fingers that that is what Final Fantasy XVI will turn into.
