One major element of the series’ success has been its iconic cast of characters. From infamous villains like Kefka to beloved heroes like the happy-go-luc💯ky Zidane Tribal, there are so many unforgettable characters, but they’re not always so memorable for the right reasons. Here are some of the greatest fan-favorite characters, along with some that we could have done without entirely.

10 🔜 Fans Love: Vivi Ornitier (Final Fantasy IX)

Where better to kick off our list than with Final Fantasy IX’s humble little Black Mage that c♍o🔥uld, Vivi Ornitier?

While a lot of Final Fantasy’s characters don’t exactly shine in the character development department, Vivi’s journey over the course of the game is truly touching and filled with emotional moments. As he battles with the ideas of his creation, h꧒is place in the world and the power he wields, the player just can’t help but root for the little guy.

9 Fans Hate: Seifer Alma🦋sꦫy (Final Fantasy VIII)

Final Fantasy VIII is well known as the black sheep of the Final Fantasy family. It’s a game that stepped away from the beaten path and i🐻ntroduced some rather quirky new mechanics, something fans are often opposed to in long-running series. It’s a supe🌠r polarizing title as a result.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The enigmatic Seifer Almasy is also quite tough to pin down. While he’s not strictly a ‘villain,’ per se, His snarky attitude, torture of the briefly captive Squall and general air of unpleasantness make him reek of the school bully of our childhoods. He also cut Odin clean in half, which is a bit of a social faux pas at the very least.

8 Fans Love: Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII) 🙈

Via: GamesRadar

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VII may just be the most iconic title in the whole series. Its original PS1 release back in 1997 was many players’ first exposure to the franchise, if not to the wide world of JRPGs itself. As beloved as the game is, though, there are also many who will happily tell you just how overrated it is. The same’s true of chief antagonist🃏 Sephiroth.

He’s the most recognizable big bad in Final Fantasy history, however, and there’s no taking that away from him. With his luxurious silvery mane and wicked blade (the legendary Masamune), Sephiroth is the ultimate gaming villain for many fans. We can’t wait to see him in action in the much-ballyhooed remake.

7 ꩲ Fans Hate: Umaro (Final Fant💦asy VI)

Some characters in this iconic series aren’t strictly hated. It’s more that they simply get a much worse rap than they deserve or are merely overlooked or underrated. Final Fantasy VI’s Umaro, for our 🦋gil, is a prime example of that.

While the simple spam of powerful physical attacks can be an efficient way to tear through a lot of♏ random battles, players don’t tend to want to be locked into that. The Berserk status is often a huge pain, and characters built solely around it aren’t all that well received. Umaro is a physically powerful yeti, an optional character the player meets in the World of Ruin. He’s very limited in terms of equipment and cannot be given commands in battle at all. While some players are happy to work around this (and he can be a very potent ally), many prefer the more specialized builds that other party members offer.

6 𒉰 ♑ Fans Love: Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII)

Yes, you probably saw this coming, but꧅ you know how it is. You just can’t have S💫ephiroth without Cloud.

Granted, in story terms, Cloud isn’t the franchise’s most interesting protagonist. With his taciturn ways and questionable leadership (it’s never acceptable to use the phrase, “let’s mosey”), he’s not exactly Mr. Personality. However, his sad plight later in the game and battle to regain his true self endeared many players to him. This gaming icon earned himself a place in the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Super Smash Bros. roster, which says a lot too.

5 𒈔 Fans Hate: Kimahri Ronso (Final F🏅antasy X)

Across the𒊎 series, the developers have always striven to ensure that the various party members feel distinctly different to each other. From the weapon they use to their abilities and leanings towards physical attacks, white magic or black magic and so on, the player’s given a lot of scope to choose the party members that fit their playstyle best.

As a result of these differences, though, there are often characters that just feel as though they don’t have as much potential as the others. In Final Fantasy X, Kimahri would be one of those. Fans ܫcan certainly mak♛e him work, but his usefulness can drop off quite dramatically later in the game.

4 Fans Love: Gilgamesh (Se꧟ries-Wide Appearances)ꦚ

As we know, the various Final Fantasy titles don’t strictly follow on from each other as sequels often do. They’re set in entirely separate worlds, for the most part, which means that there aren’t many recurring char♋acters to speak of. Certain creatures like chocobos and moogles occur throughout the series, though, as does the curious figure known as Gilgamesh.

He may not be the same Gilgamesh in each of his appearances, but his various incarnations have certain characteristics 🐓in common (mostly his penchant for swordplay and justice). He’s been everything from a Guardian Force to a roaming treasure hunter, earning himself quite the fandom along the way.

3 ﷺ ﷽ Fans Hate: Ardyn Izunia (Final Fantasy XV)

Final Fantasy XV was quite a controversial title, whichever way you slice it. It had all of Final Fantasy XIII’s impressive presen𒁃tation and flashy gameplay, but also its somewhat limited substance and depth. Noct🌳is’ adventure is quite a conventional open-world title, and franchise fans had mixed feelings about that.

Ardyn Izunia, the pꦉrimary antagonist, has also proven divisive. He’s a theatrical, manipulative villain who is setting Noctis up for one heck of a kingly fall, only to bring us an anti-climax of a final boss. Ardyn’s slimy personality and patronizing demeanor did little to endear him to fans.

2 🐈 Fans Love: Warrior Of Light (Dissidia: Final Fantasy)

The Warrior of Light is 🌺an unusual case. Not technically a main-series character, or even ꧟a named character, he is a pivotal part of the Dissidia series.

In a broader sense, he can be considered the personification of the original Final Fantasy when featured in later titles. In the earlier days of the job system, characters were largely blank slates without true names or identities of their own. Warrior of Light, then, is the righteous warrior (Warrior, literally) that every Final Fantasy hero should strive to emulate.

1 F👍ans Hate: Irvine Kineas (Final Fantasy VIII)

For our final entry, we’re going to delve back into Final Fantasy VIII and take a look at one of its more superfluous cast members: ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚthe sharpshooter Irvi♓ne Kineas.

Irvine, as players will remember, joined Squall’s party when they first visited Galbadia Garden. Their doomed mission to take down Sorceress Edea required a sniper, and so Irvine was assigned. Beyond this function, though, he’s largely forgettable. His roles in the story outside 💜of🌜 that tend to consist of hitting on the women in the party and requiring valuable resources to get the best out of his limit break, while others don’t.
