Nobuo Uematsu has cr🦩eated some of the most beautiful compositions attributed to video games, that people from all walks of life can’t stop listening to. The Final Fantasy composer’ౠs theme for♊ character Terra Branford - from Final Fantasy 6 - has been altered by a renowned producer that reimagined the piece in the style of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Composer and producer Alex Moukala posted a tweet that exhibited his version of Terra’s Theme, accompanied by musical instruments that can usually be heard within the Skyrim soundtrack. Moukala explained his process in a series of eight steps that transformed the theme into a medieval delight. Followers of the composer were blown away by the final result, stating that it was the perfect homage tꦜo the original.

Moukala’s process involved isolating the main melody of Terra’s Theme, then gradually adding in various instruments associated with Skyrim through his MIDI keyboard. The composer played the main melody using a Celesta - through the keyboard- and subsequently introduced the harp to accompany it. Moukala then added a solo cello and vocals to lay a ☂somber tone within the piece; also present in the Game of Thrones score. Trumpets were then added to mimic the s🅰ound of the popular Skyrim track Far Horizons, as well as pizzicato strings.

The composer concluded the orchestration by adding a counter-melody with woodwind instruments, and a “grand finale” featuring an overwhelming string ensemble. Moukala’s cover carried a wave of emotions to the listener, combining two styles of video game music into one exquisite collaboration. The original piece - used as the main theme for Final Fantasy 6 - was already worthy of its World of Balance theme title. Ma♒tched with the gravitas from Jeremy Soule’s Skyrim scorඣe, Moukala's arrangement took Uema🎶tsu’s composition to a whole new level.

Moukala is a Milan-based composer who has been making exemplary pop-culture co꧑vers since 1992. Without prior classical training, the composer has produced various pieces from around the pop culture universe, including St👍ar Wars, Pokemon and Kingdom Hearts. Moukala has worked with trailer music labels - such as Really Slow Motion Music - and ha🥀s composed work for various movie trailers including Avengers: Endgame and John Wick: Chapter 2. His biggest dream by far, though, is to score his own Final Fantasy game.
