In a recent developer video, director Tetsuya Nomura took some time to talk about the remade version of Midgar and what players will be able to do within the city's limits once they reach that point in the game. Going into more detail about that, Nomura has revealed that locations that players weren't able to access in the original version of Final Fantasy VII will be able to do so in the remake. In other words, buildings and other points of interest that players wished to explore in the past will now be open in Final Fantasy VII Remake.

"I thought it would be good to open up some of the locations, so players could explore more of those places that they wanted to see when they played the original," says Nomura. "People wanted to go into this building or see that facility. So I think you will get even more of a feel for Midgar than you did the first time." Having more locations opened up is a really good thing regarding exploration and the whole adventure aspect. The new locations that will be accessible in Final Fantasy VII Remake are certain to provide additional content as well. From side quests to potential mini-games, players will be able toꦓ explore more of Midgar and fulfill their desire for curiosity.
