For example, Fort Condor and Gongaga were both filler areas. On the other side, Rocket Town could be combined with Junon’s airport. That would be an easy𝄹 way to explain how Cid could run into the party sooner.
8 Do: Battle Swapping
It is inevitable that more party members will be𒉰 added in the sequel. It would be a good idea, then, to add a party swapping mechanic in the middle of battles like in the aforementioned . A way to swap out weapons would also be nice. The cost could be h😼eightened to two ATB bars for each swap to make them more of a costly action.
7 Don’t: Port Over Progress
This might be a controversial idea, but don’t port over progress. When will this thing be out? 2023 at best? Carrying over characters at t🍰hat point would feel ✤meaningless, as players would have probably forgotten their load-outs at that point.

There are still five characters left to create data for, which, on top of the next game's open world, would be a monumental task. That’s why it would be easier to just add in Cait Sith, Cid, and Red XIII. That way the third, and perhaps final part, could have two more characters in the form of Yuffie and Vincent. There are ways the game’s story would make more sense in this way too.
4 Do: Better Fast Travel
Fast travel was almost null and void in the first part due to the game being linear. Thankfully, the Chocobos were added in the last section. The system wasn’t perfect 🐈in that getting around still required some extra running around to get to certain objectives. If this sequel will be open world,♊ it needs to have an improved fast travel system, and one implemented sooner, too.
3 Don’t: Add Whispers
Okay, fans get it. This game is not goin⛎g to be like the original. Creating entities that showed them🅷 that was a little too on-the-nose.
Now that the 🎶mess꧑age is out there, there is no need to bring them back. Tacking them on would just get in the way unless absolutely necessary.
2 Do: End On Aerith’s Death
The enꦯd of the sequel should conclude after Aerith dies. Should and will she die in the City of Ancients? That is another question altogether. Even though things are different, there are some established constants. Even though some fans may hope to keep her alive, others know her sacrifice is good for the planet, as sad as that might be—just don’t go🃏 the cheap way and kill someone else, instead.
1 Don’t: End After The First Continent
On the other side of the equation, don’t 🅺cheap out and end after the first continent. If that happens, then this thing, as good as the remake was, and its sequel might be, would inevitably alienate fans. Don’t milk this remake collec꧂tion too much is the message here.
