Pairing Lissa with Ricken, however, has the potential to turn Owain into a powerful Mage with high Magic and access to the Luna skill, which halves a foe's Defense and Resistance when it triggers.

While this is the ideal Gerome, he's still best used to deal some heavy damage early before being benched for safekeeping.
3 Olivia And Chrom: Lucinꦛa And Inigo ♕
Who to pair Chrom with is a toss-up between Olivia and Sumia, as they're the two most popular choices for the leader of the Shepherds. At the end of the day though, it depends on whom you want to pass down Chrom's Rightful King skill to. Rightful King is inherited by any male children fathered by Chrom and raises the activation rate of Aether (a powerful two-hit combination), Luna, Pavise (reduces or eliminates damage received by charaᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚcter), Vengeance, and others by 10 percent.
While males will inherit Rightful King, any daughters Chrom has will be able to inherit Aether. And even though Lucina doesn't inherit Rightful King, she can learn it as a Great Lord. Having Olivia as mother to Lucina can grant you a Lucina with Galeforce from the get-go. Since you'll need to reclass Olivia to a Dark Flier right away, this can be a bit of a grind.
